Tamils from North east came to Colombo as individuals / or a single family for jobs and better life, But sinhalses settlements were colonies, 100's. Not only that they change the name of the villages into sinhala names.

It is amusing that you are claiming to a land that your forefathers lived. Do you then know where your forefathers came from? What about the tamils who live in Colombo? Did your forefathers live there too?
Buddy, SL belongs to everyone. Everyone should be free to live anywhere he/she wishes. In the modern world, you have to give up the tribalistic claims. That will only secure the demise of the society. What is next? Are you going to say this area belongs to your caste? |

| Eastern province had vast areas or vacant land thus suitable for settlements which was open to all races. However, tamils never took the opportunity participate in the agricultural settlements. Instead, they chose to come to Colombo to engage in business. That is fine and that was their choice. You cannot penalize the people who chose to cultivate vacant land instead. |

it's not a racial issue unless you wanna see it like that If you look at what the past gov has done is that.
sinhalese went to work in jaffna, there was no objection in that with tamils i belive, But settlements is going on in tamil area by the gov to margin the tamils.
I agree with you its not only north east even the down south have to come to colombo to find a good job, its diffrent to colonies. and changing names of villages |

go home and chill a bit...b4 i do that here's the last one for the day...
Please let go of tamil area, sinhala area, tanned skin area, posh area etc etc....
this land should be for all... I live in wattala...used to be a predominantly sinhala area... not there are quite a few kovils...lotsa tamils...sinahalese etc etc living in harmony...
The south is a classic example to see this is working... Why can't you northerners accept the fact that this is the way to go... No more area bound by racism... that's the root of the issue...in my humble opinion :)
