(The irony is also that the Tamils have killed more Tamils than all the others put together).

1956 riots - Tamils were killing other tamils
The sinhalese were trying their best
stop it.

1977 - same story

1981 - same story

1983 - Same story again but this time the sinhalese with
Army ,Navy and Airforce try to stop it.

1983 onwards - The LTTE try to wipe out the tamils but the
brave SLA fought back to save the tamils.

Rasak,
WE TAMILS oppose the devolution unit, lesser than a province.
isnt it contradicting, while your campaining for greate devolution, barberians also dont agree if it devolved to a more lesser unit, which is the essance of the devolution

In 1965 the democratic leader SJV Chelvanayagam signed SC Pact to compromise for 'District Councils' which was sabotaged by an anti-Tamil riot.

Successive SL Govt have shown they are not going to share power with Tamils and District Development Councils (1977) and PC (1987) have not worked because of inadequate powers and insufficient funds.

WE TAMILS want a unit of devolution that functions itself with the powers to raise funds and develop without the interferance of the Sinhala leaders. THe devolved unit must only be de-elected by the people and not by the Sinhala leaders as has been proposed hitherto by the Sinhala leaders.

The devolved units in the UK and India seem to function satisfactorily because they were set up in time before the hatred and polorisation cropped up between the ethnic communities. Another major difference in the SL context is that one majority community is at the throat of another.

Many of the goons are absent in this thread.

This is the sad plight of Jaffna children. Terror supporters are blind to see what is happening to the future generation. They are blinded by hatred and they see only imaginary eelam through their tunnel vision.

In 1956 how many non tamils were in N and E

1977 - how many non tamils were in N and E

1983 - how many non tamils were in N and E

Today how many non tamils have you allowed to live in Tamil dominated ares ?

Since 1945 you guys were crying while enjoying superior positions in both government and priviate sections.

it was foolish to ask for unfair requirements from Sri lanka.

if you guys want 1/3 of land and 2/3 of sea from the sovereign state of Sri lanka youll have to do more sacrifices thant hat.

Im not saying 77,81,83 were good moves by SL

But you must be proud to bear the name Sri lankan1 in this forum. He he

Dewey,

Terrorising of Tamil children in Jaffna has nothing to do with Eelam but everything to do with the army occupation and rearming of EPDP.

LTTE has been chased out of Jaffna and a free licence is given to the army and EPDP to kidnap and kill Tamil children with total impunity.

A confusion is created in this report by printing what the HRC member Jayawickrama said about the problems in the whole of the country, including the East.
