Tamil Extremists did this every time. I am wondering any other influntial people other thanLTTE are behind this.

One time, Tamil Extremists killed the very popular (among tamil workers) sinhala Manager from Kankesan Cement factory ( read some where)

Unidentified gunmen shot dead a chief Buddhist monk in Trincomalee this morning, the military said.

The chief monk of Pabbatharama Vihare, Morawewa, Mahadiulwewa, the Venerable Hadungamuwe Nandarathna Thero was assassinated this morning by three unidentified gunmen who came in two motorcycles, the police said.

The slain monk who was actively engaged in social work in the area is known to be a very popular religious leader in both Sinhala and Tamil communities

LTTEs do whatever they can to damage good relationship between India and Sri Lanka. After killing Indian leader Rajiv Gandhi these guys are not shamed to go behind India and try to convince that SLN has killed 77 indian fishermen. Unless Indian coatal gaurds and Navy jontly petrol the sea LTTE has a chance to kill innocent Indian and Sri lankan fisherman.

Dear AnuD,
Sri Lanka has the best language rights.

Do you think that every civilian in Sri Lanka has the right and facility to get done all their needs in their own language at all public institutes?

See in India. Do you believe that there is any room in Sri Lanka as this?
In India, the prime minister is a Sheek (Dr. Manmohan Singh ), President is a muslim (Abdul KALAM), Vice President is (Sheek) Bhairon Singh SHEKHAWAT.
NEW DELHI: Lt-Gen Joginder Jaswant Singh, who heads the western command at Chandimandir, will take over as chief of Army staff from Gen N C Vij on January 31. He belongs to the Maratha Light Infantry.

The Lt-Gen will be the first Sikh to lead the 1.13 million-strong Indian Army.

AnuD:
Now LTTE may say this is not a work of LTTE. Killing a priest is a major criminal offense as they are neutral. I remember they killed a hindu priest recently in Vakarai because he accepted the president of the country when he came to Vakarai. I can't understand why peaceful tamils contribute money for this type of ruthless and brutal organization. What liberation they can bring to Tamils?.

Ravindas9:
Do you know most of educated tamils come to south to learn technology. Ninety per cent of tamil students who get through A Level wish to come to a southern university (u/pera, u/col, u/moratuwa etc) for their higher education. Academic staff of these universities are mainly sinhalese. Tamils know they can get a better education if they come to a southern university of SL. This means they confidence that they can have a better education under sinhala staff in southern universities.
The level of our education is accepted as high all over the world. Our engineers, doctors, scientists, academicains are welcome by most developed countries. Among the best 1000 scientists in US in 2005, 134 were Sinhalese.

I studied in jaffna campus in 1975-77 and I know the education standard of the university. At least we did not have a professor with a Ph. D. during our first 3 semester.

We all are sri lankans and our race is not important to contribute to the country or accept to offer our abilities. We must try to solve our problems by negotiating. Neither GOSL nor LTTE win this war but if we continue we will loose our people as well as resources. Indian will get all the advantages of this war. We must get together and try to compete with the internationl market.
