Punchimahinda,

With the limited resurces and the type of WAR even General Norman Schwarzkopf cannot win this WAR.

It is an unwinnable WAR for both. Only a political solution can win this WAR.

With the type of offer made by SLFP, we will be fighting for a long time to come....

Its no-win situation now. whether its Gotabhaya or janaka or Maha Brahma, same answer.

I think we need person like Janka Perera as defense secetray to win this war.Inexperienced man like Gothambaya cant win this war.Rifts & destructions in Karuna faction, ltte air raids in colombo, bad international reputations to GOSL are due to Gothambaya's inexperience in defence .

When GOSL/CBK gave up the jaffna in 2000 saying we cant keep the Jaffna, it is Janaka who said we could defeat the ltte unceasing wave.he defeated the ltte & save the jaffna.
ltte had lot of casualties & damage. It is said ltte lost half of their terrorists in jaffna battle.
Therefore ltte gave up eelam dream & returned to CFA.During CFA they had major blow due to defection of Karuna.

If you believe Sri Lankans would agree for a political solution while LTTE killing machines are working overtime, you are entitled for the daily double... two buckets of punnakku, instead of one... with the complements of LTTE.

Well said Vini.

Punchi Mahinda,

The question here is not fighting a war but putting a reasonable power devolution for all the Lankans to live in peace and harmony.

Defeating LTTE momentarily is not good enough as they could return with another name and the same goes on machang. What we need is a good control to solve the issue.

Disecting LTTE is ok but that alone will not beat the issue. The issue is why LTTE is there in the first place. We need to address that. Beating one LTTE will create more LTTEs. But if we address the root cause then there is no room for any LTTE.

Take for an instance UK, United Kingdom as the name suggests that three Kingdoms hand in hand. We need somthing similar but without discussion and understanding and a compromise its hard one.

Mind you we have wasted enough money in going round the bush, so we need answers right now, not wasting money.

You are asking for war to continue like those JHU/JVP/Rajapakse Brothers idiots. Do not worry it will continue. With the two outcomes, a ruined country or a divided country without ruins. Intelliegent people have to propose intelligent solutions but not war. With the current modaya government and with their hooters it is too much to ask..

JRJ,

Its a pity, there are only a few of us caught between the two extremes, trying to convince people to think.

Hope sanity will prevail one day!
