`The LTTE`s only remaining stronghold in the East- Thoppigala, will be under Government troop`s control with in a very short period of time,` Eastern Army Commander Major General Parakrama Pannipitiya said yesterday talking to presspersons on an observation tour in Vakarai.
He pointed out that once Thoppigala is liberated from Tigers the total Eastern part of the country will be free from terrorist threats.
According to Major General Pannipitiya, the physically powerful and morally high security forces will go ahead with their successive mission in liberating Thoppigala and the victory over the Tigers of the Eastern part of the country will be marked with their achievement.
Major General stressed that according to received information the activities of the LTTE carders are restricted only to five per cent of the total Thoppigala area. Further he added that amidst the impending military operations the Tigers, including leaders, are fleeing to Vanni area leaving their own carders aside.
He also added that after ensuring the security of the Eastern part, forces will immediately hand over the civil administration activities to the Government officials for them to commence with initially planned infrastructure development programmes to uplift the livelihood of the resettled civilians.
Major General Pannipitiya added referring to the resettlement of the internally displaced people, giving priority to the originally resided civilians, the resettlement of people in 79 Grama Niladari Divisions are will be completed shortly.
The resettlement of people in the recently cleared Grama Niladari Divisions of Porathivu, Vavunathivu and Pattipola will commence on May 14.
One more school is to be open out of the total of 12 schools functioned in Vakarai and for the public transportation facility the Government has provided eleven new buses which are currently operating in the area facilitating civilians with regular transportation to the close by key towns.

The jathika weerayas (JHU,JVP,Gotapaya, Kotakadeniya, Sarath ponseka, Weerawansa, Athuriliya ratnethero and other mahinda gang) who were talking big saying they have captured Sampoor, maviliaru,Vaaharai, batticalo etc
(even though GOSL is getting hammered / roasted by LTTE inside army vehicles with climore mines every day in these so called captured places in East)
today they are having sleep less nights to protect themselves in South and unable to protect Colombo city from TAF and Running for life during nights......Even the common Sinhala man has started to curse Mahinda Chintanaya, JVP, JHU & GOSL coolies.......saying avamangalamwewa
Also only International Air Port closed during Nights, No Gas Unloading during nights in Harbour, No world cup without electricity etc
Those who said that they have captured east are now finding it difficult to protect Colombo City and South from TAF Bombing.... Several visits have been made by TAF to Colombo and South...GOSL and their coolies looking pathetic.......jayawewa TAF
The above said has been stated in Sri Lanka parliment by UNP and TNA MPs yesterday......also repeatedly it is stated that Tamils in North and East suffering due to MIG, KFIR bombing for the past several years now relized with TAF Bombing in South by Sinhala people and also the Pilots / their families who bomb North and East.....it reminds me the famous Sinhala saying 'Anunta kaladey (Demalata) thamanta paladey'......The Tears and Blood spilt by Tamils in North and East due to GOSL Bombing for the past several years is having a real effect in South with Tiger Air Force Bombing in Colombo and South Now....Lot more to come to justify the sins made by GOSL & its coolies....sin aney
We Lankan Tamils know that several GOSL Army Commanders have stated they have a little more to clear in the past and then after few days they loose what ever it was under GOSL Control to LTTE in a big way.....this really happened during Jayasikuru and in Elephantpass also it is happening in a small scale now.....what to do the poor East Comander has to say some thing for the sake of saying to justify the Salary he is getting from GOSL and Colombo media to fill the sinhala papers with jayagosha stories. Collecting all these stories JVP, JHU will capitalize uneducated village votes of Sri Lanka during next election resulting more JVP & JHU modayas getting elected to pariliment eating / living with lankan taxpeyers money doing nothing constructive to Lankan society........except just pasting posters on Colombo walls and having anti tamil / LTTE jayagosha meetings day and night!! OK. Is LTTE in control of Batti, Vakarei, Jaffna like 5 years ago?
Are they in control of a larger area or smaller? After 3 decades of freedom struggling and sole representing?
In the interim Tamils are suffering within and outside Sri Lanka. The brand damage is serious. |

In January a lot of noise was made saying the LTTE will be chased out from the East by end March. End March has come and gone but the LTTE in the East are still not gone. Why do these pundits blurt out impossible things simply to prove themselves as nincompoops?
Shut up, get down and do the job to a completion and THEN talk! Edited By - kiwikanga - 11 May 2007 14:17:10 GMT |

At the same time as the Archbishop says there will also be 'surgical strikes'.
Challenging times to say the least.
While there are some negative economic consequences the tax in take in 2007 is going to be very high. So they will manage. |

Agree. Both sides use their own tactics. There could even be a major attack in Colombo. |

International hopes rest on Rajapakse?s war strategy - paper
TamilNet, Friday, 11 May 2007, 12:49 GMT
Solid international backing for President Mahinda Rajapakse?s militarist approach to the ethnic question has made all out war inevitable, the Tamil Guardian?s editorial said this week. Operating with a problem definition that blames the LTTE for the island?s conflict, rather than the oppressive Sri Lankan state, international actors are backing Colombo?s war, the paper said. ?Every action by the Sri Lankan government is intended to foreclose the possibility of a peace process and strengthen the war effort. Yet the international response to has been one of total acquiescence. No Sri Lankan government has had it so good in this regard.? |
