This link gives one reason the army officer was asked to retire as he is not willing to send his men on a suicide mission.
The victories secured by the Sri Lankan military in the east, which encouraged militaristic thinking in the government and amongst the people, are also being eroded in other theatres of confrontation. There are reports that initial forays by the Sri Lankan ground forces into the northern LTTE strongholds of the Wanni have been rebuffed with heavy casualties. The Special Forces Commander has reportedly been asked to resign due to his reluctance to commit his men, who fought bravely in the east, into the death traps of the north. The LTTE?s breakaway faction of the Karuna group, whose alliance with the government proved invaluable in the eastern battlefield, is also reported to be splitting up with internal assassinations taking place.
The most recent arena in which the government?s competence has been called into question is with regard to finding a viable political solution to the ethnic conflict.

You seams to be an expert on benefits and retirement plans. There are lot of guys here who could use your expertise on those things as you don't seems to have any understnding on lot of other things that matters. |

Yes you get lots of bread, see I get paid US$0.069 for every post so with that I can buy at least two loaves of bread, it used to be 3 but prices have gone up, but I won't complain doing my part for Mahinda chinthana right?
So by 10,000 posts I will have at least 20,000 loaves of bread, amazing right?
You can become a Sinhala koti, but they get paid US$250 a month, even VP discriminates against us Tamils, what to do :( |

No joke's, how is the collection for final way
I heard the collection was good but lost a lot of it in the Colombo stock market during the last week.
Can you talk to GOSL and give some compensation to LTTE otherwise they might not invest in SL. Without IC handouts and LTTE not investing you guys might have to print a lot of notes. |
