What exacty is that remote clearing in the video? The one that looks like a grey circle on which either side the bombs were exploding?
And why again would anyone idiot put gas tanks amidst a bunch of trees! Almost all gas tanks are placed in open, cleared areas. Obviously we know why these liars decided to place theirs amidst these trees. |

Revy,
I saw your post on the analysis of the attack, after posting mine.
Certainly there is a road leading to it. If you look at google-earth, there is another similar 'geographic formation' just south of the attack site with only a narrower (fainter) trail leading to it. So I am not sure which one was attacked.
The one which was 'attacked' measures about 200-250m in diameter. Hence it is huge.
There are several similar sized bogs closer to the
paddy fields around this area. I suspect, that someone wanted them to look like these bogs. There are two nearb tanks and it would be fairly easiy to supply these facilities with water to make them appear like bogs.
Moreover, there seems to be some sort of vegetation growing on top of the facilites (both the 'attacked' facility) and the one south of it.
For whatever reason, someone seems to have taken some pain to conceal it from prying eyes.
The attacked facility is located only 5kms (arial distance) from the Iranamadu runway. This also seems kind of fishy.
Rather OT, there is also a sprawling building (compared to the small village houses scattered around the area) just East (about 0.5 kms) of the the 'attacked' facility. This kind of looks out of place.
Seems like a new place, with a 'newly' cut road leading up to it (see color of road compared to the surround roads).
Finally, you need to realise that the google images must have been taken some time back (and are not realtime feed). Possibly around the time that Iranamadu was being constructed (see construction vehicles(?) around the runaway). So the roads that exist then may not exist now. There certainly were no roads on the defence.lk footage. Edited By - OutofAfrica - 7 May 2007 19:45:57 GMT |

| If LTTE is using oil stirage in K'nochchi to make aviation oil for their small aircrafts. It seems air crafts are fuelled by blending diesel and carrosine oil. If LTTE is going to continue this method it is upto the overnment to stop it. Damaging feul storage will create a shortagae of oil for other purposes. Therefore GOSL must consider an alternative to provide contineous supply of oil to North. |

Saliya,
The planes that LTTE are using have very versatile engines and do not need aviation fuel. They certainly must have thought about this before buying these planes. |

Well since its getting slow, time for our daily dose of comedy from the monkeys at the MCNS (well other than the so called LTTE training base LOL):
Responding to queries from journalist as to how the Government would respond to developments in the British parliament regarding the conflict in Sri Lanka, the minister stated that the Government of Sri Lanka will only deal with the British Government. The Government is not concerned about the developments in the British parliament regarding the conflict in Sri Lanka the minister further said.
Hmm so British Pariament is not part of the British Government??? LOL thank you for educating us Rumbuttan.
Responding to queries by media personnel as to whether the Air Force is confident of shooting down illegally acquired LTTE air craft, the Minister stated that the Air Force is now developing interception and neutralizing capabilities.
?We are certainly making adjustments in the Air Force to meet the Tiger Air capability threat. We are doing our best to see that adequate defence is done as fast as possible. We are very confident that the process is on and that it will reach the target?
Oh I see so only making adjustments now to a threat that has been known for years, well said Rumbuttan, pelase continue *chuckle* |
