Mr. Bodhi Ranasinghe, a former Chairman of the Ceylon Hotels Corporation, has been named UNP organizer for the Colombo East electorate while Mrs. Rosy Senanayake, who served as Sri Lanka`s High Commissioner in Malaysia during the Ranil Wickremesinghe`s prime ministry has been named organizer for Colombo West.
Both Ranasinghe and Senanayake are Wickremesinghe loyalists who serve on the party`s working committee.
Mr. Milinda Moragoda, now a minister of the government was the UNP`s organizer for both the Colombo East and Colombo West electorates prior to his joining the government.
Ranasinghe who was educated at S. Thomas` College, Mount Lavinia, was a professional hotelier while Senanayake earned both national and international recognition when she was crowned Mrs. World.

What the hell has happened to UNP?
Oh my god. Rosy as the organizer for Colombo west.
Here is a brief history of Colombo West for all you youngsters in this forum.
Dehiwala and Mount Lavinia was a part of Colombo West those days in the 1930s.
After the Death of Mr. S.W Dahanayake who won this seat in 1931 Dr.E.A.Corray won it. In 1936 Election Dr. Cooray was defeated by Prof. A.P.De Soysa. Prof De Soysa lost this to an election petition but he came back by wining it in a by-election.
1947 Colombo West became small. Wellawatte Dehiwala-Mount urban council area became Wellawatte-Mount Lavenia Seat. in the 1947 first parliament election Colombo West was won by R.A.DeMel with 6452 votes of the UNP and Wellawate-Mount was won bt Dr. Colovin R. DeSilva of (BLP) Mr. De Mel went to become the Deputy of the First Parliament. He Died after a few months.
Mr. T.F.Jayawardane won the by Election.
1952 Election Colombo west was retain by T.F. Jarawadane where as Mr.S.De S Jayasinga (UNP) won Wellawatte-Mount seat.
1956 Bernard Soysa and Dr. Colvin. R.DeSilva won for (LSSP)
1960. Colombo West elected Two for the Seat and Dehiwala Mount became a separate Electorate. The rest of the history is well know.
How can she handle an organization of a National Party with a long history when she has not even canvassed a single election so far. Has she gone from house to house with an electoral list chucked under her arms? May be she is planning get dolled up with Mme. Shymaalee Tudawe of the HI magazine, Goolbhai Gunasekara, and hold their meeting at the Hilton speak in broken Sinhalese and expect to canvas and gain votes. Has she held any kind official position even in any Colombo West council or that matter in any political committee?. She got this position just because she was the UNP leaders pet.
This is not the time to appoint organizers who has to be spoon fed the ABC of political organization when the UNP is facing a formidable opponent like Mahinda?s PA.
She has been rewarded with a safe UNP seat to tests the waters. UNP has become an organization of parachute appointments with out considering long supported members of Colombo West.
She is just a pretty face who rented a room with my wife at Mr. Rose house at Katunayake while she worked the Air port Tea board Kiosk. There could have been times when people were able to get votes for pretty faces. Now, they need someone experienced management type to organize. I am sorry Rosy, my personal opinion is that you are not qualified or suitable for this position.
