The earliest-known inhabitants of the island now known as Sri Lanka were probably the ancestors of the Wanniyala-Aetto people, also known as Veddahs and numbering roughly 3,000. Linguistic analysis has found a correlation of the Sinhalese language with the languages of the Sindh and Gujarat, although most historians believe that the Sinhala community emerged well after the assimilation of various ethnic groups.

Since ancient times Sri Lanka was ruled by monarchs, most notably of the Sinha royal dynasty that lasted over 2000 years. The island was also infrequently invaded by South Indian kingdoms and parts of the island were ruled intermittently by the Chola dynasty, the Pandya dynasty, the Chera dynasty and the Pallava dynasty. The island was also invaded by the kingdoms of Kalinga (modern Orissa) and those from the Malay Peninsula. Buddhism arrived from India in the 3rd century BCE, brought by Bhikkhu Mahinda, who is believed to have been the son of Mauryan emperor Ashoka. Mahinda's mission won over the Sinhalese monarch Devanampiyatissa of Mihintale,

There could be two reasons:
(a)
He was one of the kids and did not realize the abuse he was taking and was looking for some thing else. So he could not find.

(b
He is a pedophile with no money and children hide when they see him. Thank god he was not able to see any.

Brittan is vice.
Both the leaders should be pressurized for peace. Similarly the Sinhalese and Tamils and other nationals should encourage peace and influence two leaders to give up war.
There is destruction in war. There is no end to war. War should end with peace. Brittan should act as a mediator for peace to unite the nation but not to divide the country.
Sri Lanka is a small country there is no room for two countries unless to establish a base to achieve Tamil State in India. Sri Lanka is like a small house that has all amenities together such as water Gas Electricity sewerage etc. If the house is divided, channels of amenities can not be divided. Sinhalese Tamils have many things in common. They are like one family. Some years ago people mixed together so much.

There are no major income sources in the north. The Tamil people live every part of the country. Tamils, Sinhalese and other nations lived together with harmony many years.
Politicians did various harmful things to other language users to gain political gains. It is difficult to divide and live. It is easy to unite and live.

If the Sinhalese and Tamils can get together, Sri Lanka can do wonderful things towards prosperity.

Two decades ago, most of professionals, Specialized Doctors, Lawyers Accountants, Auditors, Engineers, and civil servants were Tamil people in the south. Most of the prestigious positions in the Government sector were held by the Tamil people.

To day you do not seen the Tamil people coming up to these positions. Children who were born twenty three years ago see only the war in the north. They do not see anything beyond. They have not gone through uninterrupted education. They know Sinhalese people as their enemies. The children in the North do not experience anything other than war during their formative years. They grow with fear uncertainty and sorrow. How much joy and potentials you will find in little children. I urged both party leaders, Tamil and Sinhalese, to unite and develop the country as one nation. May Brittan will build the link bridge of language, to unite the country.

This is a good comment. But things have changed. Lot of Singala people had been poisoned by rasist filth. MR has proved beyound duobt that Tamils do need a Separate state. There is no family unity any more. SLanka South politically corupted for many years. Sinhala community was not brave enough to stop racism and corruption in the south.
My openion is once Ealam is foamed then LTTE might step in to help the south or take over the South to bring long term harmony. Then you will find unity and long term prosperity.

look at this answer to Tribunal.. LTTE to run a militaristic state is the solution you think? can this even be possible? can LTTE think about Sinhalese in a friendly way?

Tribunal good post, but I must say I don't think many Tamils hate the Sinhala people or think of you as enemies, we hate your corrupt and evil governments. So until you rise up and do somehting (not necessarily militant, even political efforts toreform) about them there can be no unity, because the politicians won't allow it.

Look at what MR has done now, does his latest proposal help unity or cause more division? It has caused division even among the Tamils supporting him, is this what someone who wants unity and peace does? No way.

So you need to get rid of politicians like that before Tamils will ever have trust that they will be treated equally and justly within Sri Lanka.
