After 50 years they cannot even put a document together. Does any one think any agreement with the south will have any validity without guarantees from IC.

We don't need IC approval for what ever the South come up with.

What is your proposal since every one else except you and Ranil are monkeys.

Can you please show me where i called EVERYONE else except RW and Me are monkeys??? I have ONLY called MR and Wilmal WeeraWansa by that.

So give your perspective criticizing each point of these proposal , then only we can learn from you.

I believe that any government proposals should accomplish several things..

1. Give the moderate Tamils (Arnandasagiree, EPDP, PLOT, EPRLF) and the avarage tamils (whom i believe will settle for a solution within a UNITED SL, an alternative to the LTTE and drive them away from the LTTE.
2. Isolate the LTTE by showing the world and the tamils that the LTTE has no basis for their claims.
3. Will convinve the international community ESPECIALLY india that the SL govt is willing to share power with the tamils.

Regardless of what ever shortcommings, the proposals put forward by CBK + GLP + Neelan Thirchelvam acheived the above goals. All the parties (SLFP, UNP, CWC, SLMC, All moderate tamil parties) accepted the proposals. Even MR accepted these proposals at that time.

ONLY the JVP and other racist parties like JHU and the LTTE that did not accept these proposals.

Those proposals were not perfect but gave an excellent starting point to TRUELY isolate the LTTE and unite everyone else.

What MRs proposals have done is driven even the moderate tamils away from the govt and shown the international community that the SL govt will not give anything to the tamils.

Here is what the intelligent Magha said on the thread about KIA closed during nights.

Well well , now the tiger tin planes cannot play hide and seek but come out in day time.

he believes when the airport is closed that the TAF wont be coming in at night anymore. I think he must be thinking that the TAF was dropping off and picking up passengers from KIA.

with this kind of Brain power at work i dont think any replies from Ani or anyone else is gonna get through!

as for the proposals here is another take on it

SLFP proposals, an outrageous offer, says Edirisinha

http://www.tamilnet.com/art.html?catid=13&artid=22071

Deriding the claim that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) proposals pave the way for a 'lasting and honourable solution to the ethnic issue,' Dr.Rohan Edirisinha, head of the Legal and Constitutional Unit of the Colombo-based think-tank Center for Policy Alternatives (CPA), says in an opinion column in Saturday issue of daily mirror that the proposals go back to the failed district council proposals of the 1980s and 'are potentially dangerous for democracy, good governance and the existence of independent institutions,'
