we heard from a friend, who has got a friend in the airforce that a Mig is missing.
Also, the AA fire directed at 3am on the night of the match was against our own aircraft returning from a mission in Killinochchi

My friend's friend is a medic in the airforce and he's pretty sure that one plane did not return.
May not have been shot by the LTTE, may have developed engine trouble or something but one is gone.

The Australian government has renewed its travel warnings for Sri Lanka following increased unrest in the island nation.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has reissued its travel advisory, which remained at the second-highest level, warning Australians to reconsider the need to travel to Sri Lanka amid the conflict between government forces and Tamil Tiger rebels.
DFAT advised against all travel to the north and east of Sri Lanka, where most of the violence has been centred.
'Tensions between the government of Sri Lanka and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam are high,' the advisory said.
'There has been a significant escalation in the number of serious incidents of politically motivated violence, including in tourist areas in the centre and south of the country.
'The security situation could deteriorate further without warning.'
DFAT urged tourists to be particularly vigilant on Tuesday and Wednesday, with May Day and the Buddhist holiday of Vesak both occasions of national significance in Sri Lanka.
It also raised the possibility that Colombo's international airport could be closed at short notice due to the civil strife. |

SLFP devolution proposals are a joke. Another Mahinda brothers' inspired proposal to hoodwink the international community.
Nobody, including the anti LTTE factions are impressed by this. Rohan Edirisinha's assessment of it shows the shallowness in the thinking of the ruling SLFP and its leaders. |
