CAN SOME ONE WHO KNOWS CRICKET RULES Explain if a batsman is allowed to wear gear such as squash balls in their gloves to enhace their batting ability?

Is this fair to the other batsman around the world. and why did Adam Gilcrist wait for the finals to use this very wonderful advice of his coach? Why did he think of scoring runs for his team in the previous matches? Was cheating on his mind then? If he wasnt cheating why did he wait for the last match to do this, is it because he knows then that the job was done and there wont be reverse action for his team. Or was he sure that if he used it during the super 8's then he would be found out and suspended. or was he scared that his team mates will out smart him. Which is it? What will the ICC have to say. Do they think he is a great Batsman. Well I would think he would be considered a great batsman only if he had batted alone without the use of this squash ball in his glove.
This is not a because we lost the World Cup. It is about being fair. If he were to use this glove with a squash ball then he should have gotten permission from ampairs and the opposing captain. Then we could call it fair.

AUSTRALIANS DID NOT WIN THE CUP FAIRLY THEY USED A SPRING TO BAT BETTER. WHICH I THINK IS ILLEGAL.

Well, some guy in this forum (I think he was joking) pointed the finger at Moody for the debacle (can anyone trace the thread).

He claimed we should have known that Moody is an Australian who conspired to make his country win by including Dilhara in the final.

Bonggo,

For your kind info i think this seems the thread you are looking for (from Shukriya45) and here we go:

Just a squash ball can not win a match. Simply our guys did not play to their full potential on that day. What if Dilhara was able to get hold of the return catch, The squash ball goes down the drain.
Cmon, Aussies were the better team on that day and give the the credit they deserve.

Australians are Past Masters in the cheating game. They want to win by hook or crook. It is no more a 'gentleman's game.

However and anyone said, this is a big cheat and Gilchrist is a cheater. no argument on it. this is similar as some takes drugs before playing a game. only difference is this a physical trick. if ICC has spin, they should ban this victory and should ban Gilchrist sportship in cricket. But surely, they (ICC) will not get any further action because SL is one of Asian country and they bow their head toward Aussies. Simply this is matter of SKIN COLOUR. para suddange hati ohama thamai.

THE TRUTH::::

There is a law in the cricket where you cannot put whatever you grab and put under the gloves. GillChrist squash ball is not fair since he never told before the game. Consider that as a cheat. Secondly, Sri Lankan team came under bad weather I mean the ground was literally wet. How many times our cricketers missed catches? How many times? Also, the way that ball pitches changed since the bad weather also. Our team did not have a break, we just had to bat soon after balled. This world cup is not fair. England had told there will be raining that day also. Why no one bother to reschedule the match to another day? Both teams should have agreed to play in a different day with normal conditions. Also, I heard that they gave some drugs to GillChirst also during the interval mixed with water. I am not sure that is 100% true. So those things really corrupted the whole WORLD CUP!

THIS IS WHY MATCH IS NOT FAIR.

Thushan,

You are 100% correct. What if all of our players used squashed balls? Australians maybe take a big action. But because of us, they do not care us for a fart. Hopefully, this will change in the next World Cup 2003! So, Australia will lose big time if they do not use squash balls.

BETTER TEAM WILL WIN, BUT BETTER CHEATERS SHOULD NOT WIN, SIMPLE AS THAT CORRUPTS EVERYTHING.
