LTTE: Sri Lankan jet fighter shot over Ira'naimadu

A Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) jet fighter was attacked by Liberation Tigers air-defense system when the bomber approached the airfield of the Tamileealm Air Force (TAF) in Ira'naimadu Monday around 2:30 p.m., LTTE military spokesman Irasiah Ilanthirayan said. The SLAF bomber, following a loud explosion, went down into the sea, Mr. Ilanthirayan said.
'Our auto activated air-defence-system attacked the Sri Lanka Air Force bomber when it approached Ira'anaimadu airfield on a bombing mission,' Ilanthirayan said claiming responsibility for the attack. |

I totally agree with revy for what he spoke about Laliths..he is a great gentleman and a decent person..I was supposed to meet him when i went to SL but unfortunately when i called him there was no answer..I missed that chance to meet a great man!! we may have differences in opinion in the forum but please do not judge him since you do not know him well..we do so please listen to us.
Laith is a sri lankan and a good human..

Everybody!!
I have a Q here....according to SLAF, all the Aircraft returned to bases.....IF the Tamilnet is correct....what actually did they shoot down??? |

I think you are talking out of sense here. I know Lalith as a member has a clear view on terrorists and their sympathisers. Just because you feel being hit doesn't mean to be mean to a gentleman such as Lalith.
The problem is not being Tamil or Sinhalese its the attitude that is among some Tamils and Sinhalese to create that racial impetus to divisions.
There are lot of good people either side and creating emotions would not help anyone any better.
be logical bro, we have an issue and that needs addressing, thats all!

GoSL cannot go beyond district councils and village headmen to decide upon who the local dog
Indirectly mahinda having district council to offer is asking tamils to find their own way.....if he is relay keen to resolve the issue some thing closer to what Tamils are asking should be offered (not to muslims who enjoy all power whether it is UNP or SLFP) so that the rest could be negotiated.....but Mahinda is offering crap as solution meaning we tamils have to find our way with International community assistance..........sin aney |

Well well this gets interesting now if the LTTE are backing up Tamilnets claims hmmm.
Recall in the Indian news about the fishermen killed and the sea tigers aprehended, they mentione that at least two ship loads of arms were successfuly delivered.
As the sea tigers caught were part of the group transporting these arms from said ship. And the earlier group who supposedly shot the fishermen were doing the same on a different day (thus two successful ship loads).
So perhaps the LTTE finally got some SAMS??? |

Do not misinterpret the facts........LTTE is keen only on GOSL targets of Colombo
