Media victories, military victories and realities on Tamilnet

Holes appearing now!!.. :)

''Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports from Colombo said a Kfir has failed to return to Katunayake base.''

http://www.tamilnet.com/art.html?catid=13&artid=22028

Interesting point.. are these the same sources that informed tamilnet of the following:

''..airmen coming off duty told reporters in Colombo that several SLAF jet bombers were put out of action by fierce fires which broke out in the hangars struck by the LTTE aircraft. Up to 40% of the SLAF's strike capability has been knocked out, they said.''

http://www.tamilnet.com/art.html?catid=13&artid=21681

we know the validity of this statement :) .. observe:

''..The bombs meant for the Kfir and MiG-27 squadrons fell on the adjoining Aeronautical Engineering Wing (AEW). It has now come to light that an Mi-17 helicopter, loaned from India and used for VIP transport, was badly damaged..''

The sad thing is that their foolish supporters on both sides are blind to all their failings and incompetence

Blackey mate, not so, we know their failings and many mistakes made in the past, but here is your reason why we have no choice, the LTTE is the only defence we have (and this from the Island of all papers! LOL - thanks to SF for posting on his page):

The reason is simple: the LTTE stood up and fought. Everybody, whether Sinhalese, Tamil or Moor, knows that the South would not so much as stop to give the Tamils the time of day, let alone negotiate devolution, if the LTTE had not fought GoSL to a standstill. That is the lesson of fifty years of Sri Lankan ethno-politics.

Imagine if the LTTE is militarily wiped out tomorrow. What talk will there be of devolution, power sharing, or any such thing, on the day after tomorrow? Nothing! The Rajapakse Presidential Cabal (not to mention the JVP, JHU and the SLFP majority) knows this. So do the Tamils and the LTTE; such are the stakes

So our choices are simple, LTTE or go back to pre 1972 days where the Sinhala politicians could use Tamil lives for cheap propaganda and vote earning.

Dishan,

where the hell do you get off writing this??
let me ask you something. was your dad by any cahnce one of the convicts in the weilkada prison when they killed the tamil prisoners and plucked one's eyes out??

My late father was a saint of a man who sheltered and gave employment to several Tamils. I am going to tell you something that you wouldn't know because at that time you would have not been in your fathers testies.

My father, a very brave Sinhalaya saved the Kovil Kapuwa (The High Priest) of my town in 1956 riots from an angry crowd who went to drown him by putting him in to the water well. He intervened and saved this guy. He saved another from the same Kovil who was about to be hanged on a lamp post. He did all he could to save most of the Tamil shops in my area. He nearly got killed trying to save many Tamils Friends and employers.

I feel sorry for dumb ass like you who don't know a damn thing what has happened and what is about to happen.

My father will have a good chuckle if he read what you wrote.

LTTE wants another riote in the south. they tried it many times by killing thousands of civlians and blowing trains, busses in the south. disperated LTTE attacked on Dalada Maligawa but fortunately Sinhala community in the south never fall into tigers' traps.

A Big No for riotes. Tamils in the south are suffering becuase of the LTTE and the. However, security forces shouldn't allow tigers supporters to freely move in the south. Those cowrds should be arrested and punished wihtout a doubt.

But riote doesn't destroy LTTE.

Guys I think you are taking Laliths a little out of context, he is not condoning or asking for riots, he is just stating his observation that in his opinion the mood of the Sinhala populace could lead to riots.

That is my take on it, but leave it Lalith to explain himself...

Hi Revy - yes i read that article too - it seemed balanced and made some good points that you also touched upon, the onus is on the govt to address any failings - but if they are addressed
unlikely at the moment
what will happen to the tigers and their leaders?

Revy,

I know you as a dedicated LTTE sympathizer. Most of the time I detest you. But let me tell you, I could have not written better than the way you put it down here.

Well lets have a decent honest proposal first and we can deal with that next.

The thing is the LTTE is nothing without the support from the Tamil people. So if the government can win the trust of the Tamil people (highly unlikely as stated) then the LTTE issue will resolve itself.

However I see no changes in Sinhalese politics in 60+ years, no government can afford to actually propose a valid political solution. The moment they do, JVP/JHU types will kick up a storm over 'surrendering to the Tamils' because even a federal solution is too much to stomach for these types.

Look at the current eyewash proposals (not even released yet, supposedly tomorrow or in May anyway, LOL we'll see), even in making a fake proposal the GoSL cannot go beyond district councils and village headmen to decide upon who the local dog catcher is to be.

So I think this is a mute point.
