Revy
Well I must say I am confused, only explanation to resolve the different reports then is to say that a Kfir was shot and damaged and a Mig was taken down, well we'll just wait some more and see what turns up eh.
Thats the only explanation if we are to believe what ever Mr.Ilandariya is saying!
Oh well, we'll give it a few more hours and see, it will clear up like the Burning Oil Tanks. |

Nirupam,
Already Thugs are at work shooting Tamils and Muslim in Colombo
Don't look at everything from a racist angle. These people got injured by indirect fire and there was no way to figure out where will it go when the bullet come down.
Also not only Tamils and muslims got hit, even some Sinhalese also got injured in the same incident even though the report you posted mention only a few tamil and muslim names. |

SLFP wants the unit of devolution be District Councils and not Provincial Councils. Next steo may be to Village Councils to issue bicycle licence.
[ Lanka ruling party for district as unit of devolution
[ Hindustan Times ][ Apr 30 14:15 GMT ]
Sri Lanka's ruling party, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), is likely to propose that power be devolved to district councils rather than the provincial councils as is the case now, according to media reports. The SLFP's proposal has already been criticised by the opposition United Nationl Party (UNP), and the parties of the minorities like the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC). These parties are for the continuance of the Province as the unit of devolution. It was the UNP which had instituted the Provincial Councils system way back in 1988. And the Tamils have been demanding a large amount of provincial autonomy in lieu of full independence. |

Only United states,Great Britain and India have advance information on LTTE's capacity on all fields ( Army,Navy and air force).
so there is nothing to be surprised to learn that a sri lankan Jet which was bought on credit from eastern European countries has been shot down by LTTE .
For the momenet one is down but there will be more in the near future.
It is difficult to understand how the authorities in the down south are going to accept this great lost of this aircraft. |

Dishan,
any IR using manpad wouldve done given the sun wasnt really affecting it.
May be, but what about the reaction time of the shooter plus locking time??......this is not a desert terrain or a mountain terrain.....I guess even if they have short range ray riders the task would have been difficult!!
Lets wait and see!! |
