Zaharan,
That song is always special.
Yep, truly great song! I think that song is older than my life if my memory serves me well. The song probably came around 1960.
My Dear 'Pata Podak' walata bohoma isthuti!
Kisima prashnayak nehe my dear, thanks for the appreciation.
I was looking for the original of that song, but it seems even the movie its difficult to get hold of.
By the way, there were a few more Musilms who actually sang Buddhist songs other than Beig. They are Ahmed Mohideen, A J Kareem & A R M Ibrahim. Its amazing I don't think many people would have felt that more Muslim singers singing Buddhist songs.
Sadly though, all those great Muslim singers sang songs long time ago, other than Ishaak I don't think anyone is alive at the present moment.

Thanks for your efforts.
Out of our TV channels only ITN telecasts more B&W stuff than the others, isn't it?

In fact before Ishaq, his brother Illiyas was the one who gave a serious thought to follow their father, he did a few songs without success but Ishaq progressed. |

GG,

Good morning to you. How nice to celebrate both vesak and christmas, that is a fitting tribute to your dad.
When is the vesak anyway ??
Its tomorrow (1st May), also the following day people light kuuduus.
It would be nice to make a little 'ata pattam kuuduu' in your bistro.

Hey JRJ Bro,
Happy Vesak to you and all the LNP members.
He also stressed that the way to pay homage to him was not merely by offering flowers, incense, and lights, but by truly and sincerely striving to follow his teachings. This is how devotees are expected to celebrate Vesak: to use the opportunity to reiterate their determination to lead noble lives, to develop their minds, to practise loving-kindness and to bring peace and harmony to humanity
Hope people will understand this and make a change in their lives. |
