India providing prohibited items to Sri Lanka
NEW DELHI: India is supplying High Exlosive and TPT ammunition for 40 mm Launchers contrary to the agreement that India will only provide defensive harware to the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, it has been reliable learnt .
Indian Statement that they shall only supply defensive hardware to Sri Lanka is a deliberately created illusion to appease the coalition partners in Tamil Nadu State.
Recently a document has been retrieved by a reporter which clearly expose the Indian claims of providing defensive hardware only to the Sri Lankan Armed Forces. Beside other defense equipment the prohibited items which India is providing to Sri Lanka include:
*30 Mine Protected Vehicles,
*one new Naval Vessel ( Corvette),
*Transfer of Indian Coast Guard Ship ICG ''Varaha'' presently give on free lease and commissioned as SLNS ''Sagara'',
*Ammunition 40 milimeter L and 60 High Explosive ammunition for 3000 Weapons,
*life Jackets 2000,
*Body armour 4500,
*Flack Jackets 2800,
*Helmet ballistic 3245,
*10 mine protected vehicles.
Another consignment for Army amounting to 25 Million US Dollars include:
*Freezer Containers,
*Hand Tractors,
*10 Bullet Proof Jeeps,
*400 Night Vision Devices,
*50 Mine Protected Vehicles.
Over 3 million Dollar communication equipment include:
*INTEL P4 Computer with UPS 200,
*35 High Frequency Transreceiver,
*25 Unit Level Switch Board,
*35 Secure Base Station,
*350 UHF Hand held.
The consignment also include 1.2 million dollar Engineer Equipment and 4.4 million Dollar clothing and ordance stores. So far India has provide 8550 items of Body Armour, 12300 items of Flack Jackets and 22733 Ballistic Helments.
