Sri Lanka rupee at record low on easier call rates..
http://www.sibernews.com/news/sri-lanka/-200704198215/
Thursday, 19 April 2007
The Sri Lankan rupee touched a record low on Thursday, depressed by a drop in overnight call money rates, dealers said. The rupee dropped as low as 110.50 per dollar before recovering slightly to 110.35/109.45 at 0407 GMT, still below its previous low of 109.85/95 which was hit at Tuesday's close, traders said.

The currency has fallen around 2.8 percent this year after weakening by some 5 percent in 2006.

'Overnight rates are down at 17 percent today and the rupee weakened all the way down to 110.50,' one dealer said.

Call rates have fallen from Tuesday's close of 36.578 percent, as calculated as an average. Call money has risen as high as 50 percent in recent weeks and traders said the volatility was a concern for investors.

Well boys and girls here is your dose of comedy from the monkeys hard at work in the MoDaya ministry buildings, todays comedy seems to be inexpicably interlaced with some heart wrenching drama as there is quite a lot of crying going on...

LTTE Psy-Ops target Defence Secretary
It has been observed that the alleged 'threat' made by Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa to a local English Daily, is being excessively exploited by the Pro-terror media to bring discredit to the Ministry of Defence.

The media acolytes of the LTTE has now inflated the issue saying that the Defence Secretary had 'threatened the life' of the said editor. However, Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday vehemently denied the accusation expressing his surprise over news reports.

...

The Defence Secretary has been the most devoured target for the pro-LTTE media during recent times due to his effective campaign against terrorism. The LTTE terrorists, in December 2006 attempted to assassinate him by way of a suicide bombing attack. Since then, the pro-terror media network has been engaged in an all-out campaign to assassinate the character of the Defence Secretary in order to save the terrorists from their imminent defeat.

(oh lord someone get me a tissue)

Now for the second joke of the day these monkeys took this line to be a positive for them:

ITALY CONDEMNS ALL FORMS OF TERRORISM INCLUDING INDISCRIMINATE ATTACKS ON CIVILIANS

Seems they fail to understand that what they are doing by shelling civilians, and causing a humanitatrian disaster, are 'indiscriminate attacks on civilians'
