Now you are asking me a different question. I will address that.
The civillian murders (specifically the tamils that were murdered) were committed by a section of the sinhalese population who they lived among.
My point is
1. This was not the majority of the sinhalese
2. There a lot of sinhalese who are alive today, who were just kids or not even born in that time
3. The politicians who were leading the country at the time are mostly dead
As such, I and a whole heap of sinhalese, refuse to be held responsible for this genocide or massacre or whatever you wish to call it. It is not something to be forgotten or swept under the carpet. But a lesson to be learnt and for us and the next generations to move on and ensure it is never repeated. So far, I think despite numerous provocations by the LTTE, has any significant section of the Sinhalese civillian majority resorted to sinking so low again. I would say that is a positive.
