Cut the crap man....
Don't try to compare Sri Lanka with Afghanistan.... a regime that is similar to Talaban only exists in the North of Sri Lanka.... wake up.... have some common sense....!
Tell me.... with all the pressure from terrorist sympathisers, has the GOSL waivered from what it does....??
The answer is a big NO....!!
GOSL continue with its fight with terrorism like any other country in the world....!
Terrorist sympathisers can interpret it in the way they like and satisfy their dreams..... but this is the reality....!!
As for asking aid.... well.... if they don't like to support us.... they can keep their dollars with them.... who cares....????
There are friendly countries who help SL at any time.... so no worries.....:))))))

Machang, whether we like it or not we have to realise that due to poor Sinhalese leadership there has been a de facto state. This is the reality, whether this woman speak is crap or not it has nothing to do with the reality.
What we seem not to understand is that our leaders have continuously hoodwinked us and tried to continue the same manner eachand every day. To be honest, nobody wants dictatorship whether its Pirapa or Mahinda. Seems Pirapa's job is getting easier due to Mahinda and previous leaders' weaknesses in letting a plausible solution for this burning issue. All these buggers care is money buddyfor their seventh generation, nothing we can do about that.
I am fed up with speaking to our friends in Lanka in trying to send the message but they still believe Mahinda is honest. We need to see what he has done for the last 17 months or so. At least JVP which stood for one policy which is 'Unitary' is still there. Mahinda has NO Chinthana, this is his empty Chinthana.
I would like to see some leader who talks some sense than being so selfish. Its sad but its true buddy.

Well.... I am not so concerned about Mahinda being selfish.... all politicos are the same.... no doubt about that....!
But.... we have to gauge what this government has done upto now on the most important issue for us all.... that is on terrorism in the country....!!
When considering that.... I would definitely place this government above any other government we had in the past.... and I'm sure the overwhelming majority of Sri Lankans would certainly agree with me....!!
We can't fix all the problems at once..... first we got to eliminate these terrorists under any cost.... then we can look into anything else.....!
So.... at this hour.... we all have to support the current government irrespective of who heads it..... that is our bounden duty I suppose.....:))))) |

I agree on your point on eliminating terrorism, but that needs plausible routes. By saying that I mean actions not perennial talks which is not going anywhere. Mahinda came on the backing of JVP and that sums up where he has gone now. The JVP has been ditched in to the bin and who has he taken in as his ministers 'the so-called one time traitors like Milinda, GL and Rajitha' who have ganged up against Mahinda in the presidential election in 2005.
This is why I don't feel this government is any better to compared with the old ones. Its a new coin perhaps with the same value. So there is no change. In Sinhalese we call it 'Kar eka aluth wunata driver parana ekamai' kiyala.
This is exactly what has happened. No matter what is said and done the future seems bleak for Mahinda with his present stratergies. because he is on the fence, why? Just to procrastinate his fate month by month, year by year till he gets retired or kicked out after raking heaps of money via corruption. machang Jagath, is this what we want?

I am no fan of any particular politico....
As far as I can remember.... Mahinda invited JVP more than once to join the govt.... but they refused....!
Mahinda won on two fronts by absorbing those corrupt UNPers into the govt.... one, he weakened UNP.... the other, he showed the world that he is reaching a common consensus with all parties including the main opposition to formulate a solution for the problem.....!
All politicos are corrupt.... so what's the difference in absorbing UNP or any other party to into the govt....??
Common man in Sri Lanka who are suffering under inflating COL want to see an end to this mayhem....!
I too can sense there is some sort of procrastination towards a political solution..... but the question is.... will the terrorists stop attacking us even after a political solution is put forward.....??
The only answer to that is..... to eliminate them militarily and then come up with a political solution.....! |

The Sri Lankan government?s occupation of part of the historic Tamil Eelam is de facto.
In Modern history of Sri lanka There was no Tamil Eelam ,hence no illegal occupation of the land had occurred by duly elected representatives of the people of Sri Lanka(GOSL). It is Tamil terrorism which is occupying certain parts of Sri Lanka and therefore it is not a Tamil De jure state but Terrorists strong holds captured by LTTE terrorist in various times of the 30 years of a war.
Karen Parker can stand on her hands and speak rubbish , but who cares except for the LTTE sympathizers who tries to gain a few points here and there to justify LTTE terrorism and Tamil racism? |

I can see one clear common point in both of you guys' comments. Thats *LTTE TERRORISM*.
From 1948 we never have the so called suprime 'country & people loving' leaders. Every each leader did some better to country while fatting up their private coffers. There is no escape from this practice forever.
But eliminating the most ruthless murderers in the world the *LTTE TERRORISTS* will give some additional back support to any future goverments to drive the country in the unseen development with bit easier than ever before.
In that contex, Mahinada is the only one leader we ever had and I think we all sri Lankans should support him to eliminate the *LTTE TERRORISM* not only from Sri Lanka but also from entire world. The day of new dawn will bigin just after that.

Yeah only since the British falsely gave it to you, other than than that there never has been a 'sri lanka', its a fake false state given to you by the colonialists, and freed by the Indian's efforts, no wonder you lot can't take care of it.
Things that are actually earned always seem to be cared for much better than free gifts given to the undeserving.

I thought you were a diehard Mahinda fan? Anyway I can agree with your premis that IF you had a decent leader this would have been solved so long ago, BUT I don't see ANY chance of your people ever getting one, because they run the very system that elects them and the people can do nothing about it. Which is why we Tamils are looking for the exit ;)

My poor poor blind MR fanboy, so can you explain why there was no 'new dawn' from 1948 to 1972, when there was no LTTE or any 'terrorism', when Tamils just sat there and meekly took the beatings you people gave us? All we had were day after day of stale 'old dawns'.

Oh yes, what you say is true except for the last sentence. We do take care of the land and the people, in our own way, using our own man.
He is trigger happy and killed all democratic Tamil politicians. Forced children to abondon schooling and made them suicide blow job artists. What else we could ask???
