Only one Karuna? How do you know it's not 1000?
This traitor kidnap innocent children for his personal interest. Hope this Karuna traitor would be the last paramilitary leader in the long paramilitary history of the east (Raseek, PLOTE mohan, etc...)

As each shell falls, the children, cadres from the Karuna Faction, nervously twitch their fingers on the triggers of AK47s.
Stories of child abductions by the guerrillas are common. 'Children and the destruction of family life are at the centre of the epic tragedy you see here,' say Human Rights Watch campaigners, who accuse the Sri Lankan Government of complicity in the abduction of minors by refusing to stop child recruitment by the Karuna rebel group.
Brad Adams, Asia director of Human Rights Watch, said: 'It's a shame that Government forces complicit with the Karuna group are now involved in the same ugly practice. There is strong evidence that government forces are now openly co-operating with the Karuna group despite its illegal activities.'
Children under the age of 14 can be seen standing guard and Sri Lankan soldiers and police walk past the armed children without taking action. |

After Tea and little rubber exports the tourism takes third place in foreign income . However, due to this war foreigners refuse visit sri lanka but prefer Thailand, and other destinations.
Perhaps sri lanka can focus on other essential items of paddy fields, and other foods items to feed the population.
Now it is too late.
Most of the hotels will be closed down very soon if this war continues.
Poor sri lanka. |

Look at your self first before you call others terrorist.
For a government to do such things it must be punished and set an example to other countries .
Sir Lanka must be branded as a Terrorist Government. |

Why worry? There is enough Punnakku to go around. Just ask Mahinder if anyone runs short. MR & Co have a lot of Punnakku for everyone who wants it.
'PUNNAKKU' Sinhala Buddhist can't live without it.
The Staple food of the Sinhala mentality.

Aund,
Yes,I am a 'Primitive Madayan'..
Madayan is better than 'Modaya'..
Atleast Madayan is not a person born with empty head, like you 'Modaya..
'Modaya' is a person born with un-repairable damage..
'Madayan' is a person born with repairable damage..
So, who is better? Madayan OR Modaya..
You are a filtered Modaya, like some of the guys in Rajapaka government..

Tourism is also suffering from poor infrastucture and poor maintenance of beaches and other sites of attraction. Number one problem is lack of decent basic facilities like toilets. We are still using squating pan type of toilets in many tourist locations. Flush toilets, where avaiable, are without water. Toilets are broken and flooded with knee high water.
When sLankans use those facilities they dirty them. The entire colombo is without a public toilet. In Kandy town, toilets are hundred years old. The one at the private bus stand at Pettha (very dirty) can only be used by SLankans. No tourist, even a slankan who had been living in a foreign country, can use them.
One thing our politicians and general public should learn is that toilets must be clean; as clean as your living room. |

Sri Lanka tourism a casualty of escalating war
I am sure the GOSL took this into consideration before they decided to escelate the war.
Maybe they thought the LTTE will fight only in the N&E and all of them will be safe in the south.
As usual they miscalculated. And with air planes they could drop bombs anywhere and tourist do not like the idea of bombs falling during their holidays especially when they are sepnding their hard earned money.
Hotels will close down.
Unemployment and desperation. Not only in the hotel industry but all the down stream industries and services.
Investors will slowly walk away,
Cost of living is already high and with no more income what do you think these people do?
Even hookers will have a hard time getting clients.
I can go on & on but what are we going to do to solve this problem? |
