Honestly, the Tamil expats do not realise that they are the ones who are mainly responsible for fuelling the mayham in SL.
Sri Lanka has moved on from racism that was created by 'British policy on divide and control' to the universal truth of 'co-existance'. Very few in Sri Lanka think that they can not co-exist with each other. The EELAM dream belongs to such people.
It is sad that many people are still being brain-washed about EELAM.
I honor one of Karuna's recent statement saying that his support is for creating opportunities for Tamils. He has realised that LTTE has denied that for many years. He has realised that what LTTE profess is not the answer.
There were many in LTTE who realised the same earlier too. Mahattaya who was the Second in Command of LTTE was one of them. He was brutally killed by LTTE.
Now it is time to correct the mistakes and be unite. It is time to lay-down weapons and embrace opportunities of the new world.
The competition that the Sri Lankans are facing come from every corner of the world. Whether we like it or not, we have been thrown into the Open Economy, which is a big den of carnivors. If we do not compete effectively, we will be poor beggars for the rest of the century. What we need is to be unite and build the nation and making it a happy place to live for everyone. |

EELAM is not the answer to poverty in SL. Union is the answer. Every ethnicity and religion should co-exist and work towards a united Sri Lanka, perhaps a united South East Asia. Until we are divided and fighting everyone will lose. Now mainly the Tamils in the North and the East are losing.
Thiran please ask the terrorist state of Sri Lanka to modify their constitution so that ALL people are indeed Sri Lankans, right now it is only a Sinhala Buddhist nation, so we want no part of it and will do whatever it takes to destroy it and gain our freedom from their occupational forces.
BTW this is a fact that is sinking into the IC slowly but surely, look how reporting has changed over the months, here are a few key points:

Thiran you seem to be very naive, or falsely so, what happened prior to 1972 or even 1977? Who was responsible for that? Non exitent tamil expats? Or the non existent LTTE?
We have tried decades of peaceful and democratic methods with the terrorist Sinhala state, now the only thing that works is to talk in their own language. It will take time and sacrifice, but just as other evils, like slavery, communism and nazism were defeated, we Tamils will defeat Sinhala nazism, whether you like it or not. |

Google and see how many articles are written about how LTTE has got journalists in their Payrol. |
