'In Sri Lanka, only a negotiated solution can put an end to the conflict that causes so much bloodshed,' Pope Benedict said.
All these camels preach for a negotiated settlement, but they are so blind to see LTTE has determination not not participate in any negotiated settlement. There is no solution to this conflict; either take all terrorists off the earth or give them what they ask.
Why these so called higly knowledgeable persons can not advise US to go for a negotiated settlement? Are they afraid of US? Ai, what about you? Why not talk about what US doing in Iraq?

Mahathmaa Gandhi and Nelson Mandela were jailed for the similar crimes in their times!
The Germans also tried to totally eliminate the jews and I am sure Hitler was sure he could get rid of them.

Actually, the blood thirsty LTTE is killing all who do not buy into their fascist idiology. The GOSL is protecting the innocents. Those include Tamils too.
There is no ethnic issue in SL. There is only one issue of Prabhakaran mania.
Only very few who have been brainwashed by LTTE buy into the fascist unilateral EELAM.
The majority of Tamils, Sinhalese and Muslims in SL want to live in peace co-existing with each other. |

If LTTE were blood thursty it could have massaccered the sinhala people in droves when it has the chance. It did not.( chances were and still are) but as things develop it looks like a good Idea to got for Max . human damage. ( Sinhala scum ) . But looks like it has nothing to loose but everything to gain. SLDF are saying they are taking over the Tamil areas and they kill everyone in a village to get what they want.
LTTE should follow the same.. Just like LTTE are the worlds most successful organization ( With its own air wing) GOSL is considered the worlds worst begger country.
Where most of the funds donated goes into the hands of the Head of gov. PM, Presidents, Ministers and by no means least the Underworld. ( A subsidiary of the GOSL) |

This scheme will help to protect and safeguard the fundamental rights of the students their families and their neighbours and also to create a disciplined societies -Tamilwave |

Sri Lankan cricketer Russel Arnold?s brother-in-law was killed when he was run over by a train in Wellawatta on Saturday.
The victim, Stephen Shanmugam met with this tragic accident while walking on the railway track and speaking on his mobile phone. Arnold who is currently taking part in th World Cup told the Daily Mirror it was not logistically possible to return to the country to attend the funeral. Sri Lanka takes on New Zealand on Thursday. |

Sri Lanka protects rights of the Bull!
The new law comes ahead of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival. The government says this is to uphold Mahinda Chinthanaya.
In a statement issued from the Presidential Secretariat, the government banned the sporting activity enjoyed by many rural Sri Lankans.
'All police personnel have been instructed to prevent the incidence of cruelty to cart bulls in the Hackery (Sinhalese & Tamil ? Thirikkal ) races organised in connection with the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivities in Sri Lanka,' says the statement.
'Tails squeezed!'
In an interview with the BBC, the minister of cultural affairs Mahinda Yapa Abeywardhana said that it is important to protect the animals. 'If you watch these races you see how much suffering these animals go through.

The statement said the police had been instructed to uphold the new laws.

Mahinda Chinthanaya
The government say the action of the Police is in keeping with President Rajapaksa?s policy against cruelty to animals as stated in his policy statement ? the Mahinda Chinthana.
Animal Rights and Welfare Organisations have informed the Presidential Secretariat of the need to stop the widespread cruelty carried out on cart bulls used in these hackery races, mainly by carters who are under the influence of liquor.
They have said the level of cruelty is such that these events should not be seen by children.
When asked if the restriction will extend to the bullock carts, the minister said, 'No, we have not thought that far ahead yet!'
There is however no move to ban Elephant races or Horse races, the minister added.
The statement says that members of the public are entitled to report to the police any acts of cruelty to animals at these hackery races or in the preparation for them.
According to the statement, the IGP's instructions require the police to advice the organizers of these races to ensure there is no cruelty to animals, to caution those who are likely to cause such cruelty, and where necessary take action against any perpetrators of cruelty under the Cruelty to Animals Ordinance.
upholding cultural values
Recently the government issued a statement asking all government institutions to only serve traditional food at all occassions and only greet visitors in Sinhala or Tamil.
Cultural ministry also published advertisements in national press asking all advertisers to not to use any pictures of men and women with no upper garment.
When asked if this included tourist board advertisments with maidens from Sigiri frescos, the minister said that it is only a request and not a decree.
'We just ask people to prevent using such images in order to protect our culture'.
