Someone please take a stump and shove it up Ranjit Fernando's u-know-where... He's nothing but a bootlicker sucking up to the suddas. Just a couple of examples from this match:
Totally agree. When Dilhara took Bopara's wicket he is saying Bopara hit a four and England won. What a stupid fellow he is. |

It now seems that Mahela is doing much better at No. 4 coming after Sangakkara.
However Sanga is not performing at his best at No. 3 coming in at No. 4 if we notice in the last two games SL played.
Sri Lanka has to sort this crucial batting position well ahead of the big games because we need a guy like Sanga to play the sheet anchor role, in case we lose Sanath early. |

Ranjith Fernando was a great cricketer Sri Lanka produced.
However his commentary abilities are not upto the standard and he has been criticised by many and some have branded a him as a 'repeater' (just repeating his co-commentators' comments again and again).
Hope he rectify his mistakes and put the records straight. |

It was the fantastic last over which decided the match. Dilhara should have been the Man of the match. It's true that Bopara batted brilliantly to get England so close, but he was unable to finish it. I dont understand the logic of naming him the man of the match.
Ranjith Fernando is a total disaster. First of all he couldnt identify even the Sri Lankan players! Throughout his comentry in the last session, he didnt said a single thing in favour of SL. he should'nt be allowed to continue.
He is not a 'great cricketer' for SL. He's not even everage.
This is his record:
ODIs. Played 3 matches. Total scored 47 with a highest score of 22. Average 15.66. He played as a wicket keeper, but the funny part is he doesent have a single victim! So how can anyone call him great. 'Great is, Aravinda, Sanath, Murali, Vaas, etc..,.
I totally agree with someone in this coloumn who said ' Someone please take a stump and shove it up Ranjit Fernando's u-know-where... He's nothing but a bootlicker sucking up to the suddas. '
Well said! |

'Well done Dilhara. Congratulations Sri Lankan team.
Also now time to think about replace Arnold from Marvan '
I dont see any reason to replace Arnold. If anyone has to be replaced, it should be Upul Tharanga. Wathching the innings he played yesterday was a pain. He changed the whole scoring pattern of SL. It was mainly because him only Sl scored so poorly. His fielding was also not upto standard.
Arnold atleast scores a run a ball. He is also good in the field. |

Tharanga should be credited for that innings he played yesterday. The 103 balls 62 runs may seem to be on the slower side but considering the situation it was required. He did the anchorman job for Sri Lanka, thus allowing Mahela to score freely after Sanga went out early and also in the process not allowing Anderson to dominate our innings as he bowled very well in the initial stages.
And on the whole it was a very hard day's work for our batsman. |

If we want an anchorman as an opener, best option is Mavan Attapattu. It is not anchorman but out of form. They must be clearly adviced how to play.It is better to use chamra silva as a opener & replace tharanga with malinga bandara or maharoof. |

Nassar Hussain had a supportive role for SL team though he is an english commenter.I feel Ranjith is impartial. He cant support Sri Lanka.Commentators are supposed to be independent like umpires.Nasar reavealed that Bopara & nixon are good at spin as club players. But our coach should have adviced mahela to use a pace man instead of two spinners in the beginning of their innings.
