Former military spokesperson General Sarath Munasinghe says the LTTE must have had a very successful practice before when they launched the Ariel strike on the Katunayaka air force base.
He cautioned that if the particular air craft are used for an attack in the future they might not intend of going back. Speaking at a media beefing held at the opposition leaders office General Sarath Munasinghe said the countrys security is at a very serious conjunction since the LTTEs first Ariel attack had proved successful.
Munasinghe said that the air craft used by the LTTE could accommodate two others in the air craft and also could carry explosives of around 300 to 400 kilo grams of explosives. He said the particular air craft could take off from a distance of 1 to 1 kilometers, even on a main road. But the former military spokesperson questions how did the air force miss the air craft on the radar system.
He questioned `did the radar system malfunction or were the observers not monitoring it?` he goes on to say that the forces are equipped with radar systems that could monitor air craft flying at 100 feet above the surface and there is a huge question how the air force missed it.
He said the LTTE clearly has demonstrated skills in carrying out Ariel attacks therefore the security forces must be vigilant about any possible attack.
When a journalist questioned about the victories of the troops in the East General Munasinghe said the LTTE is playing a tactical game as the troops are being scattered to all parts. He finally said that the war cannot be ended through war, stating that Former Army Commander Densil Kobbakaduwa clearly said that the power of the terrorists could be demolished but a solution to the ethnic crisis should be established through a political forum.

Yes we know that Mr. Munasingha. These bloody Tamils (tigers) think that they have captured the whole Sri Lanka. Our weakness is not infusing hatred to the people to think that the Tamils are our eternal enemies that should be killed at the sight. At least infuse that idea to the forces. I always look at Tamil youths as snakes that should be crushed at the sight.
And also I saw Ponniha Ranil has uttered something in the papers. Please tell him to keep his damn f mouth shut and also remind him his damn CFA brought all this misery to us.
Also tell the same thing to Tar..t Chandrika too. |

Fully agree with Vamp4.
All these problems are bacuse of the CFA.
Tigers bought the aircraft after P-Ranil Signed the CFA in 2001-The anti aircraft guns fixed on Parliment/Temple Trees since 1998(3 years before ranil came to power) was to shoot at crows!!
Mahinda has torn the CFA in to pieces because of it.
Jayawewa!
Lets have another dose of Punnakku buddy...cheers! Edited By - Suranimala - 4 Apr 2007 04:31:17 GMT |

Vamp4 and Special Force earlier blamed Ranil, because according to them, the air craft was taken off from the Inranamadu runaway which was built (again according to them) when Ranil was the PM.
I repeatedly (5 times, to be exact) asked them whether LTTE cannot build such a runaway now, and Special Force did not answer my question.
Now they say the runaway is just a 'show off'. The small air craft has taken off actually from a ROAD.
So now the people who take the blame is the Colonial rulers. They were the ones who built the roads. :-)

General you are correct on the point of aircraft returning safely back.but what make this aircraft fly who did the fueling ? Answer is going to pull someones pants close to you.
General is looking through a coloured eye.
MR has practically shown to the whole world what CFA has done without any argument.
You say Successful practice which was known to most of the leaders in the past CBK and Ranil but they let it grow, which is makeing a nasty thumping now in EAST and NORTHEN theater. |

Shakthi...you do have a point however...ranil's actions helped ltte's agenda a lot more than anything this government has done..
remember even the ltte peace delegations luggage was not checked and he sent radio and other communications equipment to ltte during his time... These are the only info available in public domain...
I also voted for ranil thinking he had a plan behind his pro-tiger stance...but sadly i was mistaken |

GP Ranil was/is a demon in the politics for ever. Let us Sri Lankans stop this Demon GP Ranil coming to power again and let us work towards the goal of sending this GP Ranil Demon home forever.
THIS CHILDISH , IDIOTIC GON P---A RANIL SHOULD NOT COME TO THE POLITICAL HOUSE AGAIN. NEVER...
I saw one good question repeated by Berty: Why our troops/ SLAF cannot find those toy air crafts that LTTE terrorists used for the puppet show and why we cannot pombard them??
Why our troops / SLAF cannot bombard the so called air strips / runaways those said to be bulit in Killi??
I am really puzzled.. can any one tell us some good reasons.. but please dont bring the crap like 'the deal between Thug Prabha.. blah blahh' |

According to RAW, LTTE acquired small aircrafts 9 years ago. As far as I can remember, 9 years ago, CBK was the President and she was supposedly fighting a war with LTTE. She lost nearly ten major camps in the east to LTTe. Ranil, having realised that the SL forces would never be able to win the war, stopped that sensless and costly war. As a result the economy showed a turn around from -1% growth rate to over 5% within a year. That makes sense.
Even LTTe agreed to a solution less than a separate state. It is CBK, JVP and SLFP, like when they did when the GOSL and India accord was signed back in 80s, who back stabbed the CFA. |

I presume that you are a Buddhist. What is the gurantee that you will be born as a Singhalease in your next birth and not a Tamil or for that matter any other race?. You should learn to respect human beings as equals. I feel that you are too young to see reason.
General Sarath Munasinghe
No need to go back. A sucide attack is more than ample, in a place like Hapugastenne or Parliament or Laxapana dam or mousakelle dam or Mahaveli. Ltte is not working for salary like you. How many of your guys are under our pay roll. Victoria dam is already leaking. Edited By - kandappa - 4 Apr 2007 05:34:09 GMT |

By terrorizing the world some believe they can push the society to get what they want, but the society is now immuned to this decease nowadays,so its waste of time ,resources and funds to continue the same!LTTE is just sharpening the Srilankan society of their power to face the terror!
