Dear Readers! _________ Now it`s Sakura Time in Japan.
Wednesday, 4 April 2007 - 4:02 AM SL Time

Sakura is the `national flower` of Japan; Japanese sakura is different from the cherry of other countries. Japanese cherry trees do not yield fruits like other cherry trees.

Cherry blossom viewing has been a Japanese custom since the 7th century when the aristocrats enjoyed looking at the cherry blossoms and wrote poems.

Cherry blossoms can be viewed from January to June in different regions in Japan.

Cherry blossom festivals held during this time. In many festivals, cherry blossoms are illuminated at night.

This year`s full bloom is approaching or has already been reached in several cities across Japan. The trees are a few days ahead of their average schedule due to an unusually warm winter.

I though you would like to have a look, these are the photos of this year`s bloom.

Enjoy.

;-)

Imperator Bro,

That must be a very pretty sight.

You bet, it is one of the magnificent things I saw in my life, if you saw the film 'Last Samurai', 'Ken Watanabe' is also speaking about this full bloom.

That's one of my favourite movies, bro. The setting of the rebel village was just stunningly beautiful.
