116 news!!UFO!!
The emergency telephone number 116 set up by the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) to seek public information on suspicious flying objects has generated an overwhelming response, but the avalanche of calls received from alert citizens anxious to help, have so far related to sightings of SLAF aircraft itself.'Yes, when the SLAF verified information conveyed by people about sighting suspicious aircraft, they were found to be our own flying machines', Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe said. Guys Pls ask your Forign minstry of the county you are living in, to presure the GOSL to move the Kattunaya airforce base to some other place(suggested place -mulariyawa/hungoda). also send e-mails to your travel agents/air lines that you regularly use to travel to lanka about your safty and moving the base.
1)its easy for the tigers to hit
2) KIA will be more safe to travellers

Srimaha Bodhiya and Dalada maligawa are too religious places. But LTTE attacked them and killed large number of innocent civilians. Therefore whether SLAF base is adjoing to K'nayaka Airport or not is not a matter when this barberian LTTE wants to attack. So it is better keep the camp as it is and this will give some protection to the airport. |

Only if these dime-a-dozen pundits and believers like Thambi ever knew... that US government debt runs into trillions of dollars... and without that debt they would never have achieved putting a man on the moon or other development...
But then punnakku is readily available... TO THE SEEKERS!
hE h E hE
Silly silly deluded viny comparing the false terror state to the mighty USA.
Silly old boy when the US fiances debt, it is in essence to themselves, to use your example of going to the moon, the government debt incurred is still money being pumped into their own economy (which is why the US economy does well in war time) so local industries and local workers benifit.
Only in the case of the pathetic false terror state your are a net aid recipient, your debt is all external, you are making bankers at Citibank rich, that is all (they are your biggest lender - which reminds me we should make them aware of exactly what kind of terror state they are funding) |

Heh, yes I can imagine 116 line is going to be flooded by more people seeing, commercial, SLAF, UAV's, etc rather than real TAF flights =)
Also its good to know that these southerners are concerned about the airborne kotiyas hehe, should give them a little understanding about how Tamils live in the NE with the war they so like to support. Edited By - Revy - 1 Apr 2007 03:40:42 GMT |

Wave of cancellations following air attack
The LTTE's aerial attack on the Katunayake Air Force Base last week has resulted in the cancellation of hotel bookings The Sunday Leader learns.
Although the aerial attack has been described as an isolated incident, leading hoteliers are of view that a further decline in forward bookings would put them in great difficulty, following a lean peak season owing to the escalating violence in the country
In the aftermath of the Katunayake attack, the Netherlands has revised its travel advisory to the country, but according to Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourist Board (SLTB), Renton de Alwis none of the other countries have done so, 'which is a good sign.'
'Rest of the countries have stated about the situation over here but they have not imposed any advisories or heightened the existing advisories which is a good sign. We and the hotel industry as a family worked together at this juncture and we are recovering rapidly. We have to be positive and the industry is improving,' De Alwis told The Sunday Leader.
Vice President, Tourist Hotel Association of Sri Lanka (THASL), Srilal Miththapala too is of view that no major repercussions would be felt by the industry, as no major cancellations have been received so far.
'Unless countries further tighten the travel advisories nothing bad is expected to happen as far as the leisure industry is concerned,' Miththapala told The Sunday Leader.
However sources from one of the leading hotels told The Sunday Leader that since last Monday's incident there have been 90- 95 cancellations by Thursday.
'Unfortunately the cancellations have come from Western European countries which bring more tourists to the country. Even though we are still positive the tourists would come back the situation has to be brought under control. First and foremost peace has to be ushered in if the industry is to survive,' said the sources.
'Since last week's aerial attack we have received some cancellations but what we are worried about right now are the forward bookings. For the period June, July and August the bookings are coming through in April and May. But as a result of the attack which is a few meters away from our international airport we fear the consequences would be grave,' said Director Operations, Amaya Resorts and Spas, Lalin Samarawickrema.
Samarawickrema told The Sunday Leader that those who wish to visit Sri Lanka would now think twice before making reservations. 'Even at last month's ITB in Berlin we did a random check with travel shops and except for two or three all the others had taken our brochures out of their shelves which is a bad sign,' claimed Samarawickrema.
'After the Galle Port attack last year forward bookings dropped drastically but since the aerial attack was very much closer to the airport the situation could be worse this time around,' added Samarawickrema. |

Oh AnuDUD came to the rescue of your master vini eh, lol, but don't even have the guts to spell out the insults eh ;)
can't argue the facts so the mental midgets go back to the gutter thbat spewed them out on cue.
who ever happens to own the building, they still have a huge economic impact on the economy of the US, jobs, and comerce (also its funny how you say 'jews', so there are no American Jews eh? Guess in your mind they should just go back to Israel for their homeland).
Anyway get back in the gutter and argue with some of the sludge in there, they are more in par with your mental abilities. |
