I joined LNP in late November last year, just after my final exams. I log on from time to time for a chat. This semester I have final exams for only 2 subjects, the other 2 subjects consist just of assignments, so it's a bit less stressful than last semester when I had finals for all 4 subjects!
I enjoy chatting to everybody here. The forum provides a medium for everybody to exchange their views freely. I'm sure Sinhalese & Tamils won't talk to each other like this face to face.
That's the beauty of the worldwide web: it allows whole new forms of human communication.
Yeah even Sydney has a huge Asian community. But they are a well- behaved lot. Some Lebanese immigrants cause most of the trouble, as the world saw during the Cronulla riots. I've noticed that if you take away the terrorism factor in Sri Lanka, we probably would have a much lower crime rate than Australia! |

i grew up among Tamils and still live with them
believe it or not i haven't got a single Sinhalese friend..

Wow that's interesting!
I grew up in Sri Lanka & I'm here as an International student, so I have friends from all ethnic communities. I'm even related to Tamils by marriage! My Tamil uncle lives in the Blacktown area, in Sydney's west. Believe it or not, he fought FOR the Sri Lankan Navy in the 80's before retiring!

Yes!If not for the sinhala state terrorism released against the Tamils,when they peacefully protested against unjust laws,like the sinhala only act fifty years ago, perhaps,things would have been different today in the island.
