LTTE aircraft will be destroyed by the infantry- Military spokesperson

(LeN-2007 March 30, 6.15 pm) Military spokesperson brigadier prasad samarasinghe told the media in Colombo yesterday that the LTTE's air craft will be destroyed not by the air force but by the infantry.

Answering a question raised by a journalist, he said that the public should not hesitate regarding it because it was definitely possible.

When questioned about the media reports that the radar system in the system was malfunctioning at the time of the attack, Air force spokesperson group captain Ajantha De Silva said though he has the details to answer the question he would refrain from answering it as it might pose a threat to national security.

He said the media should be careful in reporting such military related articles.

Also answering another question about the alleged charges made to the government for assisting the Karuna faction to recruit child soldiers the cabinet spokesperson said the government has under any circumstance not assisted or encouraged any party for child recruitment as soldiers.

During the briefing a journalist said that Mawbima newspaper closing down since their accounts were freezed would tarnish the name of media minister, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa said he cannot interfere or claim responsibility for steps taken by the defense ministry but said that he would request the relevant parties to speed up the investigations.

As an independent individual..'

All those components we discused 'vision, courage, reality & ethics' , they are intricately interwoven.

I am yet to convince that's happening in SL. I see why both parties support their own cause. Most of the GOSL supporters are tired of the terrorism, so they want a leader who'll get rid of them. Eelam supporters are tired of our 'elected' leaders past & present.

Everyone forget that the majority, perhaps not in the LNP forum are 'peace loving' people regardless of their ethnicity.

you dont like assets or human getting hurt in the south but rejoice at the distruction of NE.

oh ...DVLADV, When did I 'rejoice' at the destruction of NE. NE is part of Sri Lanka, destruction any part of Sri Lanka, either by LTTE or govt is a loss to Sri Lanka it self and for her people.

You have no consideration for civilians

Did I say that?

every Tamil to you is a LTTE

Did I say that? Just because LTTE members happened to be ethnic tamils, Can I blame the whole tamil community? Tamils have greviences that need to be address and respected.

every word of garbage fed to you by GOSL is the truth.

I'm not big fan of the govt, Just because I don't believe in the LTTE ideology or mindset, that doesn't make me a govt supporter. And I do not believe everything govt says. Do you believe everything LTTE or tamilnet say?

there are sinhala LTTE

Tamils have greviences that need to be address and respected

yes, tamils wanted ISGA, read below an article from Dr seneviratne

Dr Kumar Rupasinghe, a Sinhalese like myself, but whose credentials are much more impressive, told me recently that a survey conducted by his peace group in Colombo to ascertain the opinion of Tamils in the NorthEast gave a staggering result. 85% of Tamils in the ?uncleared,? i.e. Government-controlled area voted for the ISGA, i.e. to give administrative authority to the LTTE. In the ?cleared? area, i.e. under the LTTE, it will probably be 100%

This is mere repetition of the same fluff. Last time it was about a blood bath. This time it is being delusional about the air attacks and a subtle attempt to keep India out of the picture since India beefed up their security.
