Call 116 if you spot flying objects
Friday, 30 March 2007 - 7:29 AM SL Time

The Sri Lanka Air Force has installed Telephone Number 116 with immediate effect to enable the general public to inform any suspicious movements of aircraft/s or flying objects so that the authorities can take necessary action, the Media Center for National Security said on Wednesday.

This facility has been installed in view of any possible use of unauthorized aircraft.

There will be no charge for calls on this number, a press release issued by the MCNS added.

Will it be more effective if everyone is given a free Telescope or a Bino to observe skies. Ah! I got a better idea, portable RADARs may be installed in every home.

HOw about free cell phones to every one, to call and report Air tigers and UFOs???

MR never ceses to amaze me. Just when i think this gys cant come up with any more orginal PUNNAKKU - he some how finds something.

now every PINA is gowing to be calling the moment he sees a over sized crow!!

This reminds me - what ever happened to that 'OFFICIAL INVESTIGATION' that was launched to find out if there was a conspiracy in the death of a piegon when the then PM released it and the Piegon just fell dead and another hit the fan and died! :) :)

In the sky, some eagles look like small air craft at a long distance, sometimes I spend five to ten minutes to make sure whether it was an eagle or plane in Lankan air space during my early childhood.

Ani,

Give me a change to phone 116 and make my day.
