Airport under suspected rebel attack

Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels attacked Sri Lanka`s international airport north of the capital Colombo before dawn on Monday, the military said, and witnesses who live nearby told Reuters they could hear gunfire.
`There is an attack going on , but we don`t have any details,` said Flight Lieutenant Kanista Rajapakse of the Media Center for National Security. `There is fighting going on.`
An explosion is also reported to have occurred a little while ago at the Air Force base in Katunayake amidst reports that the country`s International Airport in Katunayake was also under rebel attack. A spokesman attached to the Media Centre for National Security told the Lanka Academic that there was an explosion at the air force base, but he was however unable to refute or confirm about any incidents at the airport. `There has been an explosion at the Air Force base in Katunayake. We are still unable to give any information, as we too are in the process of gathering information.` Independent confirmation was unavailable at the time this report was filed.

| LTTE - Trumpet net report five people taken to the Negombo HOspital as medical sources informed. That means LTTE are there near the Hospital too. |

If there is an attack going on, how come they don't have any detail?!!
BBC also reports that there is a suspected aerial attack too.
Hopefully it is not very serious. |

No damaged to SLAF Fleets, but LTTE has prove they have silly!Aircraft!!!and droped few bombs and sneek away n to the darkness!!!, nothing much can do now ,,
