It is being reported to us that a complaint has been lodged to the CID by a foreigner, mentioning the name of Samaraweera, after a discussion which was held between a UNP Colombo district Muslim MP and a high ranking official of the government.
Officials working in some of the institutions and ministries which come under the purview of the ministries which was held by Samaraweera earlier has been informed by a top government official to look into the past files to put up a charge sheet against Samaraweera.
After being stripped off from his ministries Samaraweera has been called before a disciplinary committee and was also removed from the party district leadership and the organizer post. But he still serves the SLFP as the treasurer of the party.

Now we are truly following Singapore.
Lee Kwan Yew started by 'removing' and 'eliminating' his political opponents first.
Then he secured his position as the Prime minister for his working life and senior minister thereafter.
All his kith and kin were given every opportunity to get rich.
Lastly he paved his son to get highest rank in Sin defense forces and later become his successor.
Sri Lanka is another Sin city in making....

LOL nice dream, keep it alive, LOL don't forget whatever Lee Kwan might have done, he still built up his nation because he wasn't short sighted enough to enact racist policies that brought his nation down for 59 years and still counting. |

After a long time, Pera says something sensible.
Yes, if you think from the angle of the authoritive leadership style what Motta Raala does today is very similar to what Lee Kuan Yew did in 1960s and 70s. (well, he did not earn any respect for that)
These are the parallels I see.
1. Lee was infamous for silencing his political opponents by abusing the system to the highest.
2. Lee was famous for curbing free media. (Though he did it in more legitimate manner)
3. Lee came to power with the support of the communist and in no time shown them the door. (Same thing happened to JVP in Sri Lanka)
4. Lee had a secret pact with a Malaysian terrorist leader anyone else was afraid to touch even with a barge pole.
However, please note the DIFFERENCES.
1. Lee had a clear political/economic vision for his country. He was a self declared capitalist.
2. Lee never tried to build a Taliban regime in Singapore. The country he build was one of the most open, most cosmopolitan, most westernized one anywhere in Asia. Lee was never afraid of promoting foreign investment in his country and never promoted protectionism.
3. Lee was a highly westernized professional. Never a nationalist.
4. Lee built a secular and united Singapore with every community enjoying same rights and privileges as much as possible. Making racist remarks is enough to send one to jail in Singapore.
5. Lee did not built family trees. (except in case of his son) He gave top positions to business professionals taken from the private sector rather than to his own relatives.
6. He was never corrupted. He never took 10% from every deal for his family.

The reality of life: If you defect an executive president AND you happened to be a very close ally of the same previously THEN, one way or the other, you are going to go to jail .
Dear All ministers and prime-ministers, write this down on a piece of paper and hang in a place where clearly visible. |

Shakti,
One can't follow another 100%, don't you agree?
Mahinda mama seems trying his best. Being Sin admirer, why don't you lend him a hand...at least give him some time...
See the great similarity the way both of those guys dealt with the Marxisits???
Yeap. I guess he loves chicken too. In his breakfast plate...
perhaps Tamil chicks too...

Well, the same happens in other countries too.
For example, when the new President comes majority of the team of George Bush will find themselves jobless. That is natural.
However, they do not go to jail...

Mucho,
Mahinda mama is dissapointing us... now he follows Sin city (Shakti's favorite).
In 40 years time we could see Yoshitha as our president and Yoshitha's wife as the CEO of the conglomerate which control all government owned enterprise...Just like Sin city!!
Sripathi and Mangala will will be exiled in 'Batalangunduwa' as we do not have Sentosa!!
Cheers
