Former minister Sripathy Suriyarachchi has been taken into custody this morning. He was taken into custody when he visited the CID office in Colombo to make a statement.
He had been questioned by Kaduwela police regarding a vehicle belonging to the postal department and had been asked to make a statement to the CID. When he went to make the statement to the CID he was taken into custody for misusing government property. He is expected to be taken before Colombo magistrate this evening and detained.
