Her comments came after the German Ambassador Michael Steiner, speaking on behalf of the European Union, questioned what sort of action the international community should take to work with the Government of Sri Lanka.
Interesting, Germans are talking about human rights too. |

Normally regional offices are opened in the capital.
UN-HR is not a branch of world bank or IMF.
Human rights office should be established in the areas where it needs. |

Army Headquarters said in a statement
Source is not credible and as such the statement has no value.
Two LTTE surrendees
I heard there were 800 negotiating the surrender. What happened?
UN is trying to protect the human rights
On one argued otherwise. UN is not asking either party to go for war or stop it. I is only asking the parties to respect human rights and be within its limits.
You got to be really guilty to have a problem with it. |

| It is good UN wants to establish a regional HR centre in Sri Lanka so that they can see how badly LTTE violate civil right of tamils living in Sri Lanka. At the same time SL government have a chance to show how hard they are working to liberate tamils living LTTE held areas. |

Good good, the more independent eyes we can have on Sri Lanka the harder it is for the terrorist state to hide its numerous crimes!
Seems the GoSL's platitudes fell on deaf ear, LOL! |

This is a insult to president mahinda by UN.
You can only insult a man who has any shame. |

Human rights office should be established in the areas where it needs.
If this argument is accepted: then there is no question that the office should be in the south. This is where the most of the abduction is taking place: this is where media personnel are abducted, harassed and killed: this is where headless bodies surfaced, this is where bodies in sump were found: this is where partly burned bodies were found: this is where Tamils don't feel free to move about and are worried of every white vehicle they see.
So south is a good place for the office. |

Human rights office should be established in the areas where it needs.
Human rights offices should be etablished in vanni & killinochchi. Then they can see child soldiers, abused girls as ltte carders.Tamils are living like dogs in vanni.they dont have human rights at all.No democracy in vanni.Only ruthless dictator ship.
No muslims or sinhalese in vanni.Only tamils abused by ltte terrorists. Edited By - punchimahinda - 15 Mar 2007 22:15:17 |
