YOu think if the Sinhalese majority ever wanted another 83, it would not have been repeated? It was a dark chapter of SL history and the LTTE had nothing to do with the fact that there have been no repeat of that.
You may be right... but, Singala GOVT had not really come clean on giving a solution to the Tamils... 83 events will never be resolved as it led many Tamils to flee to West. Those people and their decendents feel that VP is fighting for their rights... that's why VP exists... GOSL will need to make a BIG sacrifice if the problem needs to be solved in the near future.... |

There is nothing wrong having UN Human rights watchdogs as long as they keep their Nutrality. They must be given access to all parts of the country including Kilinochie and Mulativu Districts

There is nothing wrong having a UN Human rights watchdogs as long as they keep their Nutrality. Everyone is nutral it is the GOSL who is calling them something else. Why would all the others support the LTTE as it is a terrorist org? WHY ? I will tell you. LTTE followed the rules not the GOSL and when they (GOSL) got cought red handed ......

A Sinhalese arrested regarding Muthurajawela & Anuradhapura massacres
(LeN-2007 March 15, 7.30 pm) A high ranking officer of the CID told LeN that they are probing the cases where five burnt bodies were found from Muthurajawela and Anuradhapura and added that they have arrested a suspect regarding one case.
He said that the arrested is a Singhalese.
When LeN questioned whether the special report on these 10 dead were presented to the President today, since the President requested for one during an emergency meeting on the 10th Saturday. But he said vaguely that they have sent some of the documents to the President.
He said they are probing the case under strict confidentiality but said that preliminary investigations have revealed that two groups are involved with this killings.
However Spokesperson of the Karuna Faction said the murders were carried out by the LTTE.

'Ask UNP who goes in search of Bush even when they sneeze'- Media Minister
(LeN-2007 March 15, 7.30 pm) Media minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa requested the media today to inquire about the Sri Lanka - America deal from the UNP saying that the UNP were the ones who bring out America even when they sneeze.
He made this statement during a media briefing that was held at the government Information Department this morning.
A journalist asked the minister what the government's stance was on the matter adding that the UNP was in the verge of demanding for a Parliamentary debate on the issue.
The media minister then replied saying that Sri Lanka signs agreements with so many countries on trade, economic, cultural and other subjects and that this too was a similar agreement. He said same types of agreements have been signed by 89 other countries with America and that this was a just an ordinary deal signed between the two countries.
And replaying on the debate which the UNP is going to ask for, Yapa said the 'UNP goes in search of Bush even if they sneeze, so ask about it from Ranil, they would have some reason'.
