| Very good to see Mahela coming back to form. Sanga also had a poor World Cup last time around but he too has come good. Chamara looks like he's blossoming at just the right time. JAYAWEVA! |

The Pitch was slow at the start and those nagging medium pacers did worry Sri lankan front line..
Mahela was missed first ball..a dolly catch to the first slip..if that was taken, Mahela would have been completely out of form..
This is a match for sri lankans to get to know the Pitch in the caribean and to get valuable Batting and Bowling practice and they got that
now comes the harder maches in the group of DEATH
Well done our BOYS!! |

Berty,
He was very LUCKY!!
Yes! Have you heard of the great English batsman Dennis Compton? In the run up to an Ashes series in Australia he was badly out of form. During a practice match one of the fielders in the opposing team dropped a catch off him. Compton scored a century in that match and roared back to form in the Ashes!
Let's hope Mahela does the same in the World Cup! |

WELL DONE SRI LANKA!
A sigh of relief; Mahela is back in form, that's good news. Even though some are pointing out that he was dropped twice (that is how the game goes). However his innings was nicely paced and a treat to watch. Not to forget Sanga's innings was solid then Chamara's was entertaining.Maharoof is improving.Hope our boys will continue the good work.

It was pity to note that Marvan had to sit out against Bermuda. Chamara played a classic innings. So the middle order slot for two is not up for grabs anymore, it is really packed and very competitive between Marvan, Dilshan, Arnold and Chamara.
I feel Marvan should come in against India on 23/03, his experience will be handy. |

A win is a win, but we expect much more from our team.
Sanga and Chamara are impressive players, but Jayasuriya, Mahela, Dilshan have to learn much more.
The biggest question is when Mahela will get to the form.
He has been playing for last 10 years. Will he take another 20 years to learn??? |

The real game begins at the next level 'The supper eights'.. so all these are just a warm up game for the test-nations!!
Aussies are still the favorites, every other team shown its vulnerability against the pace bowlers.. We know SL has been doing great against the minnows so far but can they do the same against the pace attacks of AUS, SA????
If the top order (Sanath, Tharanga & Sangakara) failles to give a good start can the middle order perform??? We have not been tested there yet and this why i say Aussies are the team to beat!!
Looking for a good match today.. ENG vs NZ...
any links to the highlights????? Edited By - karunadase - 16 Mar 2007 08:17:03 GMT |
