TC,

Now you hope that Blair would come and rescue LTTE. Did you read the whole article properly. He understand(s) the GoSL position.

How about this:

'I know that he will also agree that terrorism and violence can never be the way to achieve a negotiated solution,' Tony Blair added.

This is a very good move. I was worried we might go down the path the western world has taken in exploiting the female body to sell products. Bravo!

PS- I don't think Odel's management will be too pleased about this!

We will be no better than an islamic state. this is the crap that the ministers find important. why dont they address some real issues. It's time they woke up. they will bring budhism into this somehow or the other and we'll be just like bin-ladens bloody gang. we have a monkey as the president with monkeys as ministers and advisors. The country is sinking fast.

As far as power is concerned, We need a kind of dictatorship to rule Sri Lanka. Earlier, every Tom, Dick and Harry poked their nose to the government matters, and it became a mess. Even Eric Solheim was brave enough to teach our presidents how to relocate camps. With current government, I don't see such things, and MR's words seems to be the final. That's a good sign for a country.
It's the rulers of the country who should govern the country, not the outsiders.
Premadasa also had this kind of governing method, but the henchmen misused it big time, so he failed. In this context, I see some are trying to point out that there is misuse of power by Gota and Basil, but it is one sided complaint. It's just from Man-gala and Sripathi. So there is no proof or an unbiased report on that.

If MR can keep this situation and make sure the abductions and other minor incidents minimal, the law and order of the country will become better, and I think the capital punishment should be re-established. Once one or two guys in the death raw see the roof of the prison at their time of death, the current crime spree will automatically declined, and it will be much better.
MR can't rule the country and attain Nibbana simultaneously, he has to select one or the other,.... SO he has to start giving permissions for capital punishment.... The dictatorship is much better than a ruler who doesn't have a spine, (We know who....)

This move is to ban public display of nudity. SL didnt have laws or it did not impose such laws until now. If you see a poster of an adult only movie, you see the pretty much people making love. Such things are not practiced even in liberal western countries.

what about Weerawanse's sisters brothels!

Piyal:

You sound like you got spanked from your Dad or a teacher when you were a kid! I see your point as far as been going after LTTE, but I don't agree the path MR is taking the country in the name of the war!

As Maitreya says....If there is no freedom of speech , freedom of media, it is not a democratic, it is a total Anarchy.

By the way, did you guys here about the 'childern of Tsunami'

Few thoughts in brief.

Sri Lanka bans semi-nude adverts

We are very lucky that we did not have mental patients like Motta Raala and his stupid mentally sick cultural minister at the time they did those Sigiri frescoes. Otherwise these ambaruwas wanted Sigiri apsaras to wear some clothes.

Poor guys. I guess Motta Raala and his cultural minister had never seen a naked women in their lives.

What about the semi-nude farmers in amude in UPFA election posters?

Can they use a picture of Sigiri apsara in an advertisement?

I guess Mahinda Yapa Abewardena was the idiot who applied tar on Sigiri frescoes. Being someone who is suffering from 'NASHTA KAAMAYA' he surely has a motive to do so.

Anyway it is a good move that should be admired.

Yes, very good move. Next we ban having intimacy in Sri Lanka too.

We want everyone in the country to be NASHTA KAAMA wallahs like Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
