| Having not seen the advert it is difficult to comment on, but what i do object to is lazy advertising where the naked image is just an easy way to grab the attention of the viewer. We in the west are in no position to lecture anybody , but because our advertising uses semi naked men and women to sell almost anything we have become anaesthetised to it and the advertising has had to to resort to more and more shocking images.Indeed only the other day some perfume brand used the image of one man holding down a woman whilst others just watched impassively.I do not want to see sri lanka adverts resorting to such cheap techniques of advertising. |

Do you consider a robed sangha clothed or semi-nude? How about the good old acharu-amma selling all those goodies in front of the school yard? Come to think of it is the govt. asking the Hindu priest to put a shirt on?
Sorry Lanka is a fools paradise. :) |

advertising firms and the media should know their limits.
since these institutions directly interacts with customers, they must act in responsible manner .
this could be addressed diplomatically without imposing rules. |

Morality cannot be legislated. Exploitation is wrong in every sense of the word but is a semi-nude figure on a add. really exploitation?
If it is who is exploiting who?
Is the model being exploited? How?
Is the consumer being exploited? How?
Are Sorry Lankans that stupid to look at a semi-nude picture and lose their mind to a extent that they know not what they do? |

| Even a country like USA is strict on public nudity. There should be some control but I don't think this is going to work. |

ShanA,
There should be some control but I don't think this is going to work.
So maybe you will help them with a working system eh! |
