Reddai hattei andalada???
Well, first we have thought of dressing the air hostesses as Sigiri apsaras to give a true local flavour, but looks like we cannot do that with that Nashta-kaama-wallah Mahinda Yapa Abewardena stopping that move.

This is another way for the chinthanaya to earn a buck...
Most of the Sri lankans working in Middle East travels through the budget air liner ' Air Arabia'. it costs only about SLRs.25,000/- for a return trip, whereas other established airliners such as Sri lankan charge about Rs.50,000 or more.
If a subsidiary can be given to Sri lankan, they also will give the tickets at a cheaper price. Why do they want to start a second airliner when you can improve the one we already have. Air Arabia must be earning a lot from Sri lankans. If Sri lankan can give the tickets at a cheaper price, this revenue also will come to SL.
When ever a SLFP govt. comes to power, it always has been a family business. The trend continues with the Rajapakse family too. These families will earn whatever they want at the expense of any body including the foreign workers.. |

Capricon,
Dont just simply cut and paste the articles here. 20 years ago Russia never used any air bus.
This is what airbus company is saying.....
The growing Airbus presence in Russia began in 1991 when the A310 became the first Western-built aircraft to gain a Russian Type Certificate. At about the same time Airbus initiated a series of joint research programmes with the leading Russian Institutes.
Today, Airbus has a regional office in Moscow to cover marketing and public relations, as well as to facilitate and develop current and future cooperation with the Russian aviation industry. Russia's capital city also is home a Customer Services office providing on-the-spot airline support.
Aeroflot, which put its first Western-built aircraft - an A310 - into service in 1992, acquired 18 A320 Family airliners in 2002, then another seven in 2005. Sibir Airlines, the second largest Russian carrier, currently operates seven A310 aircraft.
Eight airlines from other CIS countries - including Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan - currently operate some 20 Airbus aircraft, mainly from the A320 Family. Edited By - AstroLTTE - 15 Mar 2007 09:55:32 GMT |

Pilot Premnath,
Air meya
Okay meya
Shakti,
A very good one indeed. Keep it up. Wish the Airline good luck though, since it intends to offer low fares.
The logo is a disater, could have been more professional. Nothing beats the Airlanka logo, which was designed by a Sri Lankan.
Shows that these guys have not consulted Sri Lankan professionals, could be the same with the marketing strategy too. |

All I did was to highlight what was in a newspaper article.
Capricon2,
Sir, just because you hate present government please don't show your ignorance by presenting craps.
It is true all human being are political animals. But we should try to show humans are more intelligent than animals. |

While the demon-god Mahindarse's plane sits idly wasting SL gooses tax money, the Tiger Airways has been roaring away over the skies of S.E Asia and soon will grace the skies in the land downunder. Edited By - LightningGG - 16 Mar 2007 06:03:53 GM |

Capricon2, Sir,
I certainly respect your criticisms of any politician if they are constructive in nature.
Yes we talked about the timing and I never convinced why we couldn't have a budget Air Line of ours five years ago. But better later than never.
I support Mihin Air due to two reasons.
Sri Lankan doesn't target low income earners in the Middle East. As a award winning top class Air Line, it mainly targets foreigners and high income earners living in the Middle East. Mihin Air is certainly not a threat to Sri Lankan.
Secondly, Almost 90% of our labor force in the Middle East uses other Airlines such as Air Arabia, Mahan Air, Ithihad etc. I am 100% sure our people will be more than happy to use this Air Line if it offers competitive ratings.
About the corruptions, I don?t agree with the sentiment that Mahinda and co need Mihin Air to ?martia? money when they have more lucrative businesses such as weapon procurements. You are welcome to reveal and criticize those issues with evidences but not based on allegations made by political bankrupt or their media henchman. |
