So, in your thought,how LTTE problem will be solved in this power sharing.
Out of those all groups, the least peaceful group or the most recently gave up violence against the STATE, KAruna has said, they are prepared to follow a peaceful political path under the PRESENT SYSTEM.
So, what else you think of. |

The counttry needs peace and Sri Lanka predominantly being a Buddhist country monks take precedence for that matter and that does not mean to create tension and intricacies among non-Buddhist of course.
The religious leaders must show some form of matuarity. In Sri Lanka the Buddhist monks, unfortunately, do not behave as such. They allow to be corrupted by the politicians... they are the ones who had demanded special previledges to Buddhists, thus inflaming religious and racial anger among communities...

| The problem is now theentire country is in thurst of blood and everyone lost their thinking knowledge. Just take a look at the world and the development in the neighbouring country. Learn from the past mistake. Give peace a chance for once. I am telling to all the war mongers. Stop war. Think about innocent people get caught on the firing line. Enough blood shed, is enough. What curse happen to Sri Lankan. Already trincomalee is been sold to US. What else. |

| Who is Karuna, How can any body can trust him. He sold LTTE for once, What guarantee that he can give to the Government and Majority Sinhalese that he want sell any vital information to the world for a large amount of money. I don't think Karuna is a saviour of tamils nor sinhalese. He is the reason behind all the abductions in Colombo with the Government forces and Army Deserters. All he wanted is money. The Colombo abductions and disappearances are playing a vital news headlines in the conflict torn Sri Lanka. |

I agree 100% with your thoughts and writings, but it is easy for the southern politicians to play the race card and win the elections, and war for peace is there to make some quick money. |

Buddhism is a philosophy and is the same anywhere, it's the culture that is different. Don't get the two mixed up. In Sri Lanka, Sangha (the monks) plays an active role in the matters of political importance and that's why Buddhism survived for 2500 years Same reason it survived in countries like Thailand and Tibet still hangs on. If not for the contribution made by the Sangha, Sri Lanka by now would be either predominantly Hindu like what happened in India or even Muslim or Catholic.

First of all Buddhism is not a philosophy, Philosophy is some ones mind projection, What Buddha found was the answer to free from all the suffering by doing meditation, It is a truth and which will take us beyond the limitations of the mind. It is the true experience of Gautama Buddha. He taught this for 40 years after his enlightenment. There is no question about saving Buddhist values
in a Buddhist way, What these so called Monks are doing is in a non Buddhist way which is totally wrong. You have to practice what you preach. Dharma should be the focus point of the teachings. Not all Buddhist monks in SL are bad, There are many real monks in Sl and they are not in the political scene and they go in the way of Dharma which will lead to Enlightenment, free from all the sufferings as a human, go beyond the mind and reach the highest state of being . If non violence is practiced by Monks it will have great impact on the Society than propagating war.
It will be all good for not only Singalas, but for the whole humanity.
I agree that Buddhism was under treat many times by South kings and other European invaders. Average Tamil has nothing to with it, Where as Singalas are made to believe that Tamils are thereat to Buddhism in SL. Thats is where it all went wrong. |

Sinhalese buddhists showed their willingness to accomodate the migrant Tamils by sharing the buddhist temples with hindu gods. Sinahalese buddhists accepted many of the hindu gods as their own and venrate them.
What did the Tamils do?
Answer my friend, what did the Tamils do to show their respect to the Sinhalese Buddhists?
Do you know there is a Singala mahavidyala school and a Huge Pansala, Buddhist temple in Jaffna Town.
LTTE or Tamil civilians never did anything to that.

Power sharing is a must, but it should be on regional level and not on racial line. Maximum power should be delegeted to all nine provinaces.
Colombo has been the administrative and commercial city throughout our histroy but failed to link rural community with the city. |

US should consider allowing Binladen to contest the US Presidential elections in the future with Hilary Clinton
and the rest.After all as a democracy they should set an example to the rest of the world by giving everybody a fair go.Democracy,Pluralism,Human rights,Politics all
part of the game.Bin Laden will represent all muslims in US.After all US is a pluralistic society. |
