Teaching Buddhism for sri Lankan children in the schools is a biggest mistake because mose of these sinhalese kids become very anti-Tamils and bouddhism in Sri Lanka is entirely different compare o the other bouddhist nations in Asia;
Buddhist monks are worse than animals and worse than Muslims terrorist and so there won't be any peace untille all these monks send back to prison for life.
There is nothing wrong with teaching Buddhism in schools, In my view every kid should be made known about Buddha's Teachings. But the question is whether the real Buddhism is taught, If the real Buddhist values taught , it will be beneficial to all the human kind.

The biggest mistake was taking out teaching history in schools. And by the way you talk of sinhala kids, it's obvious you've never talked to any.
Buddhism is a philosophy and is the same anywhere, it's the culture that is different. Don't get the two mixed up. In Sri Lanka, Sangha (the monks) plays an active role in the matters of political importance and that's why Buddhism survived for 2500 years Same reason it survived in countries like Thailand and Tibet still hangs on. If not for the contribution made by the Sangha, Sri Lanka by now would be either predominantly Hindu like what happened in India or even Muslim or Catholic. |

It is becuase of Buddhism that Tamils still live in the South, and When ever possible Tamils come to the government side (if ltte allows them to). It's the same reason that many Tamils during the Tsunami took refuge in Buddhist Temples. It is the same reason that you guys can still go via Katunayaka airport to Jafna and donate die-ass-pora money to vp and come back safely while enjoying the southern hospitality. It is the same reason that there are many Demala maha vidayalas in predominantly Sinhala areas. It is the same reason that there is hughe Hindu kovil in the middle of Kandy town and Tamils drag the vale cart in the middle of Kandy town in front of the Temple of the tooth relic, yet Sinhala buddhists watch all this in earnest without even throwing a stone!!
And just reflect on what the Tamils did in reply. Destroyed 'muhudu maha vihara' and many other historical sites in North-east and established hindu kovils on top of them. What happned to the vihara in Munneswaram?

absolute rubbish, these are the same monks who want war, no devolution and no peace. It is the same monks who write the mahvasea which is taught in the schools to fear tamils. There is no such tamil writtings, we just fear sinhalese for fear of our lives being lost |

We are the reason that you pariahs are able communicatre in english on this forum. We allowed you pariahs, a bunch of bagali throaways to establish a foothold in Tamil lands and gave you equality. How did you show gratitude for allowing your half human-half lion race to grow and expand in all of the South and West? | Piedomon, it is amazing these guys think they all the way from Bengal got to Srilanak before tamils did, when tamil nadu is just above sri lanka. Just because one mad monk said sinhalese came first everyone belives it so. Look at the geography. There is also evidence suggesting some of the tamils who were there forst just converted to buhdsim and took up sinhala language. These are genetic experients to show how sinhala came from tamil |
