1st we defeat tigers and take them out of the picture then we will talk solutions ..

Well said .. The problem is Americans generally do not 'think things out to the end', and will come up with 'quick fixes'. It is not only with regard to Sri Lanka .. they did this in Iraq, and earlier in Afghanistan .. committing their own troops. (Before getting involved in Iraq, they should have finished their 'business' in Afghanistan .. Unable to properly 'focus' attention, and resources stretched to their limits, US Govt looks set to making a 'mess of it' at both locations).

Yea exactly Gunapathy I've read your posts, their of good quality against the tigers. Yea I'll do like alot in a month or two and then find I have more pressing things to do and I will realize the lame nature of the stuff that goes on in here so I'll stop for awhile. Then I'll get interested again, because you know its, fun to make fun of losers like the tigers. Keep oneself current on the ideas and opinions on the latest news of the day, even if some of it is rediculous

Yes the SenaM,
The American govt is retarded, for all the brain power they have or are supposed to have, they are all incredibly stupid and ineffective. An ordinary citizen could come up with greater stuff than they.

On the way to mono ethnic KOLAM.

Jaffna local body opposes Sinhala on buses

TamilNet, April 22, 1999 07:58 GMT

The Waligamam West Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) in Jaffna passed a resolution yesterday that passenger vans and buses in the peninsula should remove Sinhala from their destination boards. The local government body also passed a resolution that the SLA should immediately stop the census it is currently taking of the population in Jaffna.

Passenger vans and buses in Jaffna began carrying their destinations in Sinhala as well after the army instructed them in many parts of the peninsula to do so. The Sri Lanka army (SLA) is 99 percent Sinhala speaking. Only the Muslims and a few specialists and interpreters of the Sri Lankan security forces speak and understand Tamil.

SLA sources in Jaffna said that the instructions were issued to carry destinations in Sinhala too for the convenience of its soldiers manning the numerous sentry points on most roads and streets of the peninsula.

Tamil politicians in Jaffna who oppose this argue that the SLA is trying to reimpose Sinhala hegemony in the north. A member of the Waligamam West Pradeshiya Sabha pointed out that the democratic movement for Tamil rights was radicalized in the fifties by the movement launched by the Federal Party (the precursor of the TULF) against the use of Sinhala on vehicle number plates and government name boards. He added that there was no need for Sinhala in a place which is 100 percent Tamil speaking.

When I call for a peaceful political settlement this is a powerful message to the LTTE as well as the government to engage seriously in this type of peace negotiation,' Mr. Mann said.

'Engage seriously'. Come on Mr. Mann you should be joking. Of course in the same was George Bush engaged seriously with Sadam Hussain, Mahinda will engage seriously with Prabha. But please tell Mr. Bush to not engage so seriously with Iran.
