Colombo, March 8 (AP): Thousands of villagers are fleeing from LTTE-held areas in eastern Sri Lanka, fearing new fighting between the rebels and government troops, a military spokesman said on Thursday.
At least 13,685 Tamil refugees have crossed into government-held territory from rebel-controlled areas in the past two weeks, Brig. Prasad Samarasinghe said.
On Wednesday, 3,638 people fled rebel areas, the most in a single day, Samarasinghe said.
The refugees fear their villages will become a battleground, as fighting between the military and rebels intensifies.
On Thursday, soldiers and rebels exchanged gunfire on a strategic bridge in eastern Batticaloa, the military said. One soldier was wounded.
Samarasinghe said an army patrol was attacked by Tamil rebels on the ''Black Bridge,'' which leads to Batticaloa town.
''Our soldiers fired back, forcing the rebels to flee,'' he said. |

Some Singalas try to show that they are decendents of the Veddas, which is not true. These Wanniyala-Aetto Veddas are most abused people in SL.
No one talks about them.

No one knows who is he according to gon captain he is one of gon captains friends who was killed by SLA ( that is what he says)
So with that unknown name he tries t show that SAL kill civilians regardless they are Tamils or Sinhalese.
Basically this name mis a weapon for Gon captain t start a primary argument which he cannot prove |

The modayas in this forum hallucinating that SL coolie dogs are winning in EAST,
Even US agree that GOSL coolies can not win LTTE, Because the difference is Coolies vs Freedom fighters. The Kifirs, MIGs and all the multi barrel are just useless, waste of your tax money which could be used to the betterment of people.

I am having trouble because my brother saying something and I have no idea what it means but they want some kind of reassurance(s).
800 is the number right now, but how can 250 soldiers who are there handle this?
but it is collapsing right now. because it is early morning

According to our sources, there are nearly nine hundred LTTE cadres are trapped up in the Toppigala area. However, many of the Eastern LTTE leaders including injured Sornam had left the areas.
You did not tell any thing new.

LTTE cadres in Thoppigala to surrender - latest situation report from Batticaloa
SLA shoulld give theme the assurance about their lives and take them to rehabilitarion camps.
