Jayalalitha: `Sack Karunanidhi for turning Tamil Nadu into LTTE arms base`
Thursday, 1 March 2007 - 5:03 AM SL Time

NEW DELHI, February 27: Tamil Nadu`s former Chief Minister Ms Jayaram Jayalalithaa has lambasted her successor Muthuvel Karunanidhi for turning the southern Indian state into an `LTTE Arms Base` and demanded that he be sacked forthwith.

In a strongly-worded statement issued in state capital Chennai on Monday, the General Secretary of the opposition All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) accused the Tamil Nadu police of not taking action to curb the movement of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) militants and their activities, such as smuggling of weapons and explosives to Sri Lanka on a large scale, besides stockpiling them in the state.

She recalled that the Centre had dismissed Karunanidhi`s government in 1991 for helping the LTTE. `There are stronger reasons now for such dismissal of government,` she asserted.

Ms Jayalalitha sought the intervention of the Central Government in Tamil Nadu to safeguard India`s security as extremist and terrorist organizations have `intensified their activities, taking advantage of the situation prevailing in the state.`

She claimed that she has information that `terrorists from Sri Lanka` are hiding in Tamil Nadu and carrying out `dangerous activities` on a very large scale `by taking advantage of the lawless regime` in the state. Therefore, the Central Government must intervene to `save the country.`

She warned that failure to curb such activities may result in raising demands, building an intensified campaign, holding conferences and bringing out publications in support of extremisim and terrorism in Tamil Nadu.

Even while stressing unity among the Tamils to find a solution to the ethnic problem in Sri Lanka, Jayalalithaa said her party is keen that Tamil extremist groups should not be encouraged in the island. This is because the ethnic issue cannot be solved by taking up arms. The AIADMK is firm that the Government of India should earnestly strive for finding a solution to the Sri Lankan ethnic issue, she opined.

Jayalalithaa noted that some sections in Tamil Nadu argue that the LTTE should be supported on the basis of ethnic affinity. But the AIADMK does not accept this theory because such action could eventually inject the culture of extremism into Tamil Nadu as well, she asserted.

Referring to recent seizures of weapons and explosives off the Tamil Nadu coast, Jayalalithaa said these are the `tip of the iceberg.` She also pointed out that there have been reports that some persons belonging to the LTTE had visited Tamil Nadu, and that the uninhabited islands between Rameswaram in south Tamil Nadu and north Sri Lanka have become `a haven for terrorists to stock their weapons.`

Jayalalita: 'Sack Karunanidhi for turning Tamil Nadu into LTTE arms base'

Jayalalitha is playing a political game, to come to power,in the name of LTTE..
Why not she talk about Khasmir,Assam,Manipur,Maoists..etc..
She is the most corrupted and well known Karunataka prostitute in Tamil Nadu....
How come a 'Karunataka' prostitute can talk about 'Tamil Nadu?..
She is a good partner, for Wimal Weerawansa's sister...

Jayalalitha is as perfect as CBK!!

Both Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha will use LTTE or any other issue, for their political survival..

It is another kind of 'punnakku' for one part of the Tamil Nadu masses!!

We will see more of this in time to come!

As Kula said, there is hardly any difference between the opportunist politicians/political parties in Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu.

Their political survival depends on the existence of LTTE.
