When LTTE in north is defeated then N and E should be developed under a rapid scheme.

I am sure N and E do very good once terrorism is eliminated

Nice work by defence ministry

discribing tennis ball as football.

i have read many ocation a small incident discribed as large distruction.
there was a boat which was intecepted and fired at. it could be a fishing boat of coast, or it could be a LTTE boat carrying wepons to other parts of srilanka.
or possibly buying wepons from srilankan navy at sea.
any boat that are fired at will explode because boats are run by small engines that require petrols, and petrols are taken in large cans if the navy shot any petrol can it will oxplode.

in my page sometme ago i have published how a christian father was shot and then the government media discribe the insident as a Soldier shot and Kill a LTTE before he attack.
here

one the boat is attacked first it was said as boat, then trawler, then small ship, then ship, then cargo ship.

this is how media reported.

Tamil net : a boat
Colombo page : a boat
Lanka Truth : a Trawler
infolanka ; 250 foot smugling ship ( following government statement possible

Sri Lankan Navy destroys LTTE vessels.

The Sri Lankan Navy destroyed a 300 ft long LTTE gun running vessel, 185 nautical miles off the Devundara coast in the south of the island on Wednesday.

Naval spokesman Com DKP Dassanayake said that a routine naval patrol off the southern coast had seen a large vessel without a flag moving towards Sri Lanka.

When asked to identify itself, the vessel gave false information. The navy then told the vessel to proceed towards Galle for inspection.

A large LTTE arms carrying vessel destroyed by Sri Lanka navy off Dondra Point

By Walter Jayawardhana

Colombo, 28 February, (Asiantribune.com): The Sri Lanka Navy fired and destroyed a 70 meter long arms carrying vessel of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) off the Dondra point of the Southern province of Sri Lanka.

The vessel caught fire and was sinking slowly in the Indian Ocean about 190 nautical miles south of the port of Galle, a Navy spokesman said.

Fishermen in the area reported they heard a series of explosions in the sinking ship indicating that the LTTE vessel was carrying large hauls of explosives.

'We fired warning shots and they fired at us,' said Commander D K P Dassanayake, a Navy spokesman.

'The ship is on fire and we can see a series of explosions,? he further said.
Dasssanayake said the confrontation took place in Sri Lanka's territorial waters and away from international shipping lanes.

Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe, the Sri Lanka Army spokesman said , 'We repeatedly tried to check the identity of the vessel, but neither will it give one, nor will it stop forcing us to take action.'

The incident took place one day after the LTTE tried to attack a humanitarian mission by all Western diplomats visiting the country's Eastern Province was fired at by mortar fire by the LTTE.

The Ministry of Defense in a statement said, ?The vessel sailing in deep seas around 185 nautical miles off 'Dondra Point' without a flag was detected by the Navy around 04.30 a.m. today(28). The ship had completely ignored the warning shots fired by the Navy patrol craft to stop. Instead the vessel had opened fire towards the Naval units. Subsequently the Navy retaliated with gun fire at the suspected vessel at about 08.30 a.m.?

It further said, ?Naval intelligence units believe that the LTTE movement comprising a cluster of terrorists boats yesterday(27), to be a diversion plot to make it easier to the LTTE arms vessel, apprehended further down south today(28).?

Sri Lanka Navy successfully thwarts the attempt

This morning Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) detected a seventy five meters long ship without a flag, name or any identification mark, moving towards North 185 nautical miles away in the seas off Dondra Point, in Matara, in the deep southern part of the island, Navy sources said.

The Navy patrol crafts on detection had inquired the ship of its identification and the information received, checked at the Naval Headquarters, found to be false. Hence, Navy has ordered the ship to stop or berth at the nearest harbour (Galle) for checking. On detection the ship has diverged from its directions and has started sailing towards south.

'A name of a ship should be available in the International Lloyds Registry but we found that no such ship was registered. Therefore the Navy had to stress on checking the ship,' Navy Spokesman Commander D.P.K. Dassanayake said today at the weekly media briefing held at the Media Centre for National Security.

The Navy fired warning shots ordering the ship to stop but instead of responding the ship has fired back and continued to proceed further South with increasing speed. The Navy was compelled to retaliate and fire back at the ship which exploded instantly amidst a cloud of smoke and the series of explosions indicated that it was carrying weapons and explosives.

Anud,
Karuna says, LTTE knew long before the visit of Diplomats to East.

Because, it was highly publicised.

They are illiterate, only Rasaiiah Illan Kan knows to read and speak.
At this time he was having some fun with a child suicide bomber, so he forgot to read the publicized articles. Now he is covering up his/LTTE's Ass.... Nothing new.

Navy did the right thing here. No one can argue that. According to the United Nations Law of the Sea. Coastal States exercise sovereignty over their territorial sea which they have the right to establish its breadth. And Sri Lanka navy is the branch of a country's military forces principally designated for this.

Veluge wallam dekama gone.

EXCELLENT JOB SLN:

If SLN has GOOD weapons, then they will love to do their job.

Then it is easy for SLA inside the country.

Very easily we find the solution for FAKE STRUGGLE.
