The Tamil Nadu Government was warned recently by India?s main opposition party, the BJP to be ?extra vigilant? against attempts at smuggling arms to Sri Lanka from the state. Senior party leader Venkaiah Naidu told reporters the party was concerned over previous seizures of arms, ammunition and materials used to make weapons in Tamil Nadu and said the State should come down firmly against those involved in or co-operating with such groups knowingly or unknowingly.

What did she do? Im really curious...

Ms Jayalalitha (Jaya amma) is 59 years old now, MGR passed away in December 1987 at the age of 70.

Jaya was the full time mistress of MGR and MGR's wife was late Janaki. Jaya was under the full control of MGR until his death.

In mid 80's MGR became ill and had to depend on Janaki and the access to MGR by Jaya wasn't easy.

While MGR was in a coma stage Jaya claimed the General secretary (GS) post of ADMK but MGR came out of the coma stage and sidelined Jaya in Politics.

When MGR died she tried to show to the Tamil Nadu people that she was the favorite wife of MGR not Janaki by crying, chest beating, hugging the dead body of MGR and several other things, just to grab the GS post and CM post.

But Jaya wasn't successful , Mrs Janaki became the CM of Tamil Nadu, ADMK split into two factions Jaya and Janaki.

Only couple of weeks passed Mrs Janaki as CM , Janaki and Jaya factions had a fight in the assembly and Mrs Janaki was injured , the assembly was dissolved in 1988.

Mr Karunanidhi came back as CM in 1989 and Jaya as opposition leader, this time Jaya was beaten in the Assembly and partially disrobed by DMK MLAs. Jaya left the assembly with the vow only to return as the CM of TN.

Jaya became CM after the Rajiv assassination in 1991.

MR Karunanidhi is very good at politics and administrator but he is an atheist, Jaya is a religious person and Brahmin .

Whenever Karunanidhi was CM, TN did not get enough rain and the farmers came to the conclusion, because Karunanidhi is an atheist the Gods are not pleased to give enough rain, so we are better of voting Jaya to get rain.

Did the farmers get enough rain by voting Jaya as CM in 2001, No.
There was severe drought in TN in 2001 to 2003 period and the farmers were committing suicide in Thanjavur.

Jaya consulted the religious people about the lack of rain and they advised her to do Kumbhabisekams to the Temples specially to the Thirunelveli Nellaiyappar Temple, from the day of this temple Kumbhabisegam TN is getting enough rain regardless of Jaya or Karunanidhi as CM.

I beg to differ. Jaya is definitely not clever. She is kept alive politically by the shadow powers of the 'Tamil' bureaucracy in Delhi. The same shadow powers also harm the interests of Eelam Tamils and keep Karunanidhi in check by dangling the implicit threat of dismissal.

The shadow powers and affiliates manipulate all of India to keep Jaya (or any other non Tamil nationalist in power).

The Tamil Nadu politicians MK and jaya should be ashamed of themselves for using Tamil problem for their political ends.

Here tamils surviving for their survival against a ruthless sl terrorists and Tamil Nadu politicians playing games.

Both come to power in the name of tamil and once that fulfilled they don't care about tamilians whether they are in Tamil Nadu or in Eelam. Their only motive is making money for their sons, daughters and friends.

In a civilized modern world how can anyone allow these people continually hoodwink tamil people. Sooner the tamil realise this and get rid of this evil politicians, better for the whole world.

Every other politicians whether it is George Bush or Putin they are for their people, not in the business of making money or betray their own people.
