so called elected gov cant even goto some parts of its own why are they risking the diplomats lives then???....
The problem is government has to listen to both democratic and the military views. It is indeed stupid to listen to establish a peace talk with terrorists when that can only be dealt with military manner. The issuse is there is so much crap shouting to save the tigers and that is indeed the reason why this idiocy of 'in the middle' view is developed.
The way forward is to remove the scums than pasting up anything over it and as you said buddy I agree it should be one way or another not 'on the fence'. Lets hope the policiticians have the brain to do so :)

Hey tamilcanuck dude: how about a simple apology to US? we are waiting!
shouldnt the GOSL apologise to the diplomats for risking thier lives by taking them into the war-zone without a propper procedures to safegaurd their lives????
in any case when the US-forces bombed and killed the entire chinese embassy staff in Iraq USA never apologised publicly only admited it to be a grave mistake even though the Embassy was clearly marked....
firing at an embassy and killing the staff and a diplomat getting ingered in a war-zone are two diferent things.. which one is the terrorist act???

Luckily the LTTE did not send any suicide bombers there.
Further the LTTE supporters(Key Board Tigers) tells here that the DIPLOMATS are infants and know nothing and mislead by GOSL.
That is a big joke for all the time. |

Why does sri Lanka (aka Eelam in tamil) need to apologise to anyone to take diplomats? They are not ones who attacked
I heard LTTE is now preparing to execute the 40 cadre who participated in the attack. they are to be shot

Where was the renowned LTTE Intelligence wing? I'm sure they were aware of the diplomatic visits to the military airfield of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) in Batticaloa.
We are shocked at how the Sri Lankan state childishly exposed very high-level diplomats... Our people were not informed of the diplomatic movements. This is a criminal negligence on the part of the Sri Lankan military,
- Rasiah Ilanthirayan, the Tamil Tiger spokesman.

OK,
Let's say the GOSL didn't inform LTTE on arrival of the diplomats.
Why did LTTE attack to the civilian area even if they were notified ???? were they playing with mortars, and accidentally hit the targets.
But the suspicion is, he has told, that we immediately stopped the attack as soon as we were notified.
Doesn't that violate the CFA (if it's still there) ?
May be LTTE wanted some more, and sent the message to the SLA, We need more air strikes, please send a dozen !
Next time when they attack SLA, send a message that there are some diplomats visiting the area, and once they stop attacking, counter attack.. !

Hmmm.....
After all LTTE missed the target again. Go and get better weapon LTTE. LTTE can use those artilery to kill jungle 'gembo'. LTTE should do what they can do in future.
