Piyal,
I hope you are aware of Dick Chaney's incident in Afghanistan. I don't see any difference between this and that.
Such incidents would be on the rise because rebels are using the high status of these officials to their advantage.
The GOSL might have taken them in to that area, but the whole IC saw LTTE was attacking them. That's what GOSL wanted, and no matter what you (LTTE) say, the IC saw only one picture.
GOSL was irresponsible in risking the lives of these officials in their care. They were not in the care of the LTTE.
The LTTE has yet again failed to understand the tactics of GOSL.
To me it is more like the LTTE using it to its advantage.
What I see is this government has shown the maturity toward this problem than any of the previous governments, and at the same time, LTTE had failed as it never had.
I see irresponsibility on the part of GOSL and cunningness on the part of LTTE - albeit unwittingly as per reports received todate.
I have just one question.
Don't you see anything wrong in LTTE's side regarding this ?
No - because the first duty of the LTTE is to protect Tamils. If this happened in the course of that duty I see everything right about it. After all, the Western leaders here in Australia did not come to my rescue when I was sent to prison and was persecuted for upholding the law and Truth. Hence to me it is an intellectual exercise and not an emotional one.
I think LTTE caught red handed in attacking civilians, That's what GOSL wanted, and MR must be laughing from both sides now.
If so, MR wouldbe condemned by the IC as being highly irresponsible in his services to those in his care.
love
