The Tigers expressed ''shock and sadness'' at the wounding of the diplomats, while saying the government was to blame for their injuries because it didn't inform the rebels the envoys would be in the area.
The ''Sri Lankan government has exposed senior diplomats to danger by allowing aircraft carrying them into an area where they have declared military operations without informing the LTTE in advance,'' the rebels said in a statement, citing their military spokesman S. Ilanthirayan.
Sri Lankan military aircraft bombed ''identified LTTE bases'' in the Batticaloa district after today's attack, military spokesman Upali Rajapakse said. The targets were marked for destruction before the attack he said.
moby i agree with LTTE 1000% , diplomats were not their targets.
dont forget your army shelled two of the SLMM heads. they narrowly escaped deaths.
underline fact is no deplomats are safe in srilanka.
srilankan government blamed LTTE for the attack on pakistan,
then what happend pakistan blamed indian RAW.
dont jump to conclusion.

Don't split hairs. It landed near the camp. That is danger zone. There is a war going on whether official or otherwise.
Just as you said the LTTE are at liberty to pick their targets and they picked a military camp. So what! Your words and thoughts is of no meaning to the LTTE. You are free to have your opinion. This is a free world. But using bad language and slur .......

The LTTE shows the those emotions every time they got caught with their pants down, so don't' white wash them. I have never seen a statement come out in Tamilnet so fast than it today, I bet a few in the hierarchy changed their pants after finding out about the attack as suddenly skid marks appeared on their camo undies! Some gung ho cadre must have seen the choppers coming and let loose without caring two hoots about the movement or the ramification if any one of those rounds found a target. |
