US ambassador in Sri Lanka hurt in artillery attack

Hahaha! I left a post on a previous thread saying that somebody should pop a bomb near Blake and scare him off!

Thank you very much, Prabha. Not only have you done what I (and presumably many others) asked for, but you've also well and truly put your foot in it now!

Did srilankan government shelled the foreign delegation??
Tuesday, 27 February 2007 - 4:10 PM SL Time

what i can think is , srilankan government must be thinking it is better if three ambasidors dead on the spot then their propaganda would be in full swing and put all blames on tigers.

for these foreign deplomats this shell is maybe a first hand and the first experiance.
we tamils have been living with these shells for over 20 years.
many days when we get ready to school at that time shell started to come from various army camps we wait for half an hour and one hour and then life back to normal we go to school. how many days we worried about our mothers who went to market when the shell falls near the market.
and how many days our mothers worried about their childrens when the shells falls close to schools.
how many childrens ,fellow students have died on the way to schools.
we had learn to live with it.

it is the first shell experiance they faced. it maybe a thirriling experiance for them.

even if the shell was fired by LTTE , LTTE cannot be blamed because when two helicopters comes it is natural for LTTE assume it s Ponseka group . because it was a normal practise all these CFA years GOSL inform LTTE when deplomats visits these region
it is proven GOSL dont care about these deplomats.

The injured were rushed for immediate medical attention. Batticaloa Hospital sources said, that the injured included the Italian Ambassador, a school girl, four police personnel, three STF personnel and two airmen.

The delegation however continued with their schedule despite the terror attack. Having obtained the medical treatment all the officials attended a meeting on developing the eastern province and providing humanitarian assistant to the displaced.

it is common knowledge that LTTE knows all movements of GOSL and SLA. When a kafir is loaded in Katunakaya the tigers evacuate into bunkers thats how they work. I am sure they know who were in the private Helli.

LTTE should be happy that foreign diplomats are visiting East Tamil home land on development projects rather than annoying people who are trying to develop.

Ajan,

Here you go machan. TamilnUt has answered your question:

U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Richard O'Blake, and the Italian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Pio Mariani, were slightley injuried by shrapnel of shells fired at Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) airfield in eastern Batticaloa

It says 'fired AT.' Now go ahead and say that our boys did it themselves to make it look like the LTTE's responsibilty.

I've left this post in your page also, just so you get the point.

I fail to understand why so many here are making a big deal of this act. These very same Governments have issued warnings to its people that the security conditions in Sri Lanka is not good and advised their citizens to avoid travels to this country. Then what the hell were they doing in Batti???? the LTTE had also issued a warning that most are military targets. Despite all this if they had traveled in a military helicopter, what should they expect?

Were they deceived into believing that GOSL was in full control of the East?? At least, now they will understand the true condition in the East.

There was one post that the weapons were 7 kilometers away. How then would the LTTE know that it was ferrying Foreign diplomats?
